    Hi Guys,

    How this could be possible?

I have a website in the top 10 Google for this keyword which has 110,000 Search Volume per Month.

The keyword Search Volume value is from Google Adwords Keyword Tools

    hxxps://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

UNFORTUNATELY, I receive no traffic? whereas if I've check in this forum, most of members are using Google keyword tools for their keyword research. I even ask SEO experts and they also use the same keyword tools.

    This really make me CONFUSE!

Do you guys experience this and what is your thought about this situation?

Note: The website has been in top#10 Google for 2 weeks!

What's mind- in top 10 Google? For 2 weeks? What's your keyword(s) rank? It's not important your site PR, it's important your keywords rank!

I cannot expose the keyword for the sake of competition.

To be precise the keyword is at position #6 in Google SERP. My website do not have PR yet. (PR 0)

You need PR to get traffic...suppose you have an article 'Earn Money' another site with PR4 have same topic so they will come before you in search ranking so PR is more important to get traffic through Google when you targeting a high volume keyword.

Change the match type from broad to Exact and then check how many are the exact keyword people are searching on Google. My advice is to edit your title tag and mixed up a catchy words with your main keywords, due to this you will get a high CTR. and I think your page title is not so catchy that's the reason you get a high bounce rate. If you have any related question you can ask me.

Let say your website has PR4 and it on Page#3 of Google SERP for the optimise keyword. Will the website get a traffic as much as the website on TOP#10 Google SERP for the same targeted keyword?

Bounce rate is when you start getting traffic.. first traffic then you can see the bounce rate. How do you calculate/view bounce rate if the webiste not even get a traffic?

I believe and agree with you concerning the title tag with main keyword increase CTR, but in this situation I'm not even get a 1% of traffic out of 110K search volume (potential traffic)..I'm on position#7 Google SERP.

    hi,

    hold on...don't get confuse yet.

ranked on the first page of google is a big achievement especially for the high search keyword.

what u did now is right..hold on it.

as mentioned above, try to improve your page title and description (if it is still not attractive enough).

otherwise, build more pages and try to get the the good rank too for these pages.

as your site's age only two weeks, be patience..more traffic will come in coming days.

just make sure u are maintain at that position.

and dont forget, be ready with model how u want to monetize this 'traffic'.

i experienced the same....initial month i only got about 100 visitors to my site even my site ranked at #5 on google and #1 on yahoo..but now, after three months, i got thousands of them.

    thanks.

Sorry but that is completely false. PR has no relevance to rankings at all. My site (PR0) ranks well above PR4+ websites, even above a PR6 website.

Now, about your problem. My guess is the problem is that you're in position 6. It seems most people only actually click on the first few results. I had this same problem myself. I had two keywords - One with around 100K searches a month and one with around 300K searches a month. With the 100K searches keyword, I was #1. With the 300K searches keyword, I was #8.

I was getting around 200 visitors a day with the 100K searches one, and around 2 (If that) visitors a day for the 300K searches.

I hope this story helps. You just need to keep building backlinks and aim for #1, because that is where most of the traffic goes to.

totally agree with Mervinkoops, PR has nothing to do with the ranking positions. I have got sites (PR2) that out ranks sites that have higher PR. People should stop chasing for the PR thing.

    Eastern, Mervinkoops.

Thanks for you answer, I will try to get a better position and monitor the traffic pattern closely.

But too me for high search volume keyword 110K in this case. it is about roughly 3600 traffic a day and getting so little tiny traffic doesn't look right.

It was my highest concern due to the fact that, I had hired SEO service for another website and they apparently rely 100% base on Google Adwords tools for keyword research.

But when I experienced myself with such situation where I did not getting traffic as I should for another website which I optimized myself. This raise a question on the accuracy/ingenuity of the Google keyword tools.

I just thought I would getting a spike of traffic for top#10 position with high search volume.

That is why I have written over 5,000 times so far.

Feel free to quote me too.....

Google exaggerates keyword volumes. The only factual numbers come from Hitwise & Comscore, which most people cannot afford to buy.

All other keyword tools scrape Google (wordtracker) and will not help you much.

Also you need to remember that to google these terms

    blue shirts

    &

    shirts blue

will give the same number of search results in Adwords tool, even though in reality, only one of the phrases has a high volume of searches each month.

As for click percentage by position

    1 50% to 60%

    2 30% to 40%

    3 10% to 20%

    4 0% to 10%

    5 Nada

    6 Nada

    7 8 9 10 Ad Nauseum

Hope this helps and find a better way to build your business!!!!!
    :)

You could be number 2 in google and get little traffic.
You could be number 7 and get tons of traffic.

If your page url, page title and description put the searchers off clicking your link you won't get visitors.
Your page url, page title and the "snippet" they show in the results (often the page meta "description") is what attracts searchers to visit YOUR page.
Has to look like they will find what they are searching for in the context they are searching for.

Great input but it seems the volume is not consistent. I think I read somewhere in this forum, in one of the thread giving a good advise to double check the statistic with Google Adwords.

Meaning that we bid for the 1st postiton for the target keyword and monitor how many impression we got for the whole month to see if there is a genuine traffic for such keyword. But how to translate the impression to the search volume?

-absolutely agree, it's very important to write right description! It's like all your post in 10-12 words!
