I have a website www.projectsclothing.com I asked someone to get me onto page 1 for the term Numph. Now I'm pretty new to the whole SEO world an am intrigued to know how I got a page 1 ranking within 3weeks. The onsite seo stuff starts next week, but even before I got this done I rank on page 1. When I look at my competition on backlinks checker I can see that the number of links have definately increased, but not anything ridiculous My Backlinks Results Indexed links Indexed websites Google 2 - 572 Yahoo 155 - 108 Results from a competitor Indexed links Indexed websites Google 29 - 2260 Yahoo 2690 - 1425 The funy thing is I wanted to rank on page 1 with this URL http://www.projectsclothing.com/manufacturers/numph-18/ but like an idiot I gave him the homepage and this what ranks om page 1 With the onsite been so poor, how do you guys think this has been possible???
Hi, This is very tough work....but have patience and start SEO work....it will take time but definitely come to first page.
This isnt your answer, but more of a general query, what the hell is Numph clothing? ive never heard of it, i just did keyword analysis on the term Numph and it shows 22000 searches per month, so i guess the term is probobally worth optimising for if that what you specialize in, ive just never heard of it, im guessing its some wierd new clothing trend, please enlighten me. as for your SEO try to get back links from other clothing sites with them using your search term "Numph" as anchor text, also make sure you have your keyword in title and description meta tags, sorry i cant be of more help, i only replied because i was intigued as to what NUMPH is?, im off to google to find the answer now
Well I am pretty sure that is a non saturated niche. If you want I can try to make a small easy site and try to compete with you for the keyword? Then again your site does not looks that bad. Some simple SEO should get it back plus link building.
I don't want to be knocked out of top spot already, lol. I just can't understand how and older site with more backlinks can rank below me, I just think I'm missing a trick? I thought it may be the quality of the backlinks as many of mine are on decent PR sites, but the competition has a significantly higher number of links!!!! truebluefishing: Numph clothing is a Danish brand that is sold in stores like topshop, asos and us, projectsclothing Just click the sig if you want to see it mate
yeah it works now, and i know what numph clothing is now too, (learn something everyday) nice looking models too
Maybe you competitors backlink value are dropping and your new site ranking boosted up. Plus, google always give a credit to new sites to rank top for few days before hiding them in shadows.
i will suggest you to create more and more backlinks and other activities of SEO for both on page and off page. SEO is a gradual process so you have to wait for sme time... thanks...
I see it as number 3 now but it could be a freshness boost. Probably best to keep backlinking to keep it up high. Also, if the quality of links is better to your site than the competitors that will help. Yahoo cares more about quantity.
First of all it is absolutely impossible for you to know how many links Google is giving you credit for or even knows about... The LINK: operator at Google typically only shows a very small sample of your backlinks. Even Google Webmasters Tools only shows you a sample of your backlinks (more than LINK: typically but still a random small sampling typically). Yahoo! Site Explorer's LINK: operator is about the best place to get a decent list of your backlinks. These are only the links that Yahoo! knows about. Although Google and Yahoo! have different sets of pages in their indexes, many of the backlinks will be known to both. Yahoo! Site Explorer LINK: operator provides probably the most exhaustive list of your backlinks. As far as how you ranked so quickly... It doesn't look to be very competitive... Only a little over 1 million results. And many of them probably aren't really targetting the phrase. It just shows up on their site they get counted as another result. It's not really so much the number of backlinks that makes you rank. That mainly affects your page rank (PR), not how you rank in the SERPs. PR does almost nothing for your rankings. What is MOST important is having backlinks to your URL with "Numph" in the link text. The more backlinks w/ "Numph" (or some variation like "Numph clothing", "Numph brand", "Numph brand clothing", etc) the better you will rank for that term. It is the link text used in the hyperlink that tells Google what the page the link is pointing to is all about. Gratz... But don't rest on your laurels... Continue to build links w/ link text containing your targetted keywords. BTW... You have 2 listings on Page 1 when I search. You're in 5th position w/ your home page PLUS an indented 6th position w/ http://www.projectsclothing.com/manufacturers/numph-18/ (the URL you want to rank).
Google seems to dish out (as only one other post has mentioned here!) a "freshness" factor to websites. New websites tend to get a boost in SERPs initially, before they drop off by -30 or so. If your website is fairly new, this is quite likely what you're experiencing, so it's best to strive to get some backlinks in this period in order to maintain that ranking. If you experience a significant drop in SERPs (-30 to -100), there's no cause for alarm.. You'll probably fluctuate for quite some time before you get an accurate measurement of where your site sits SEO-wise.
What I find astonishing is that two replies in this thread are givin him advice on raknin, when he has clearly said he ot to No1 - but does not know how! I did have a serious point to make but I visited the project clothing website and got so sidetracked by the lovely blonde that I forgot it....
