I cant believe it. Out of nowhere, my dead-silent travel forum today has a 250$ CPM tag on it...What did i do right? Let me know so i can do it to the rest of the site...wooohoo!
That would be because you received a small amount of high paying clicks within a short amount of impressions.
The CPM is an attempt to estimate, if you kept your current averages for the day, how much you would make per thousand impressions. Your CPM is screwed because of lack of traffic. If you got paid $1.50 for one click, your average is $1.50. So it is basically assuming wrong. It then takes in account your CTR, and now you have a really screwed up CPM. But as soon as the real traffic comes in, it will straighten itself out. PS: It does not measure how much your site is getting through CPM advertisements, if you were thinking that. Sorry to kill your hopes.
No, Rouier. i figured that. The CPM is still high today, so its as you say. Short-lived, I'm sure. But working on traffic. Thanks
Hey, Like the layout! For the banner i think you should get rid of the border and have the same background color! Regards, Sohan.
I suppose I disagree with blending the ads in with the colors on your site. Ordinarily I would agree that this is the right thing to do, but forum sites are notorius for low CTR because ad placement options are limited and regular visitors tend to become ad-blind. Therefore, for forums, you need to get the attention of your visitors to get them to look/click on ads. This means using some kind of contrasting color, but in a way that doesn't destroy the looks of your site design. I would suggest experimenting with various color combinations to see what looks best. Good luck. Nice site.
Thank you Stackman, for your feedback. I'll be trying your suggestions out. Green rep enroute to you for being helpful!!
