I want to spend the least possible on a pc but get the job done perfectly. Do you guys know a website that can help me figure out the minimum requirements that i can look for so I don't overspend? Something like a configurator script or similar. I need it for a few specific uses only, anything else would be a waste... Thanks!
The use is going to be primarily a slideshow. I would also like it to have 2 separately operable monitors. Other uses, very occasional... BTW, how long can a monitor cable be? (if I have to place the case far from the display). Oh, and it would be on 24h for extended periods. Thanks!
Your much better off building your own, if you have the time? I did and got much more quality for my money than if I had bought a ready built unit.
In Boston, why? I thought about that, but I would need some kind of configurator anyway. And, to be honest, the margin of saving is not as impressive as it used to be. But I would consider that if I knew what components to pick and tutorials for the tricky parts. Any ideas?
Check out forums like; www.buildyourown.org.uk/forums/ and forums.overclockers.co.uk. They helped me a lot when I built mine. Sites like Tigerdirect.com are great for components.
