I want to spend the least possible on a pc but get the job done perfectly.

Do you guys know a website that can help me figure out the minimum requirements that i can look for so I don't overspend?

Something like a configurator script or similar.

I need it for a few specific uses only, anything else would be a waste...

    Thanks!

    :)

The use is going to be primarily a slideshow.

I would also like it to have 2 separately operable monitors.

    Other uses, very occasional...

BTW, how long can a monitor cable be? (if I have to place the case far from the display).

Oh, and it would be on 24h for extended periods.

    Thanks!

    :)

Your much better off building your own, if you have the time?

I did and got much more quality for my money than if I had bought a ready built unit.

    In Boston, why?

I thought about that, but I would need some kind of configurator anyway. And, to be honest, the margin of saving is not as impressive as it used to be. But I would consider that if I knew what components to pick and tutorials for the tricky parts. Any ideas?

Check out forums like; www.buildyourown.org.uk/forums/ and forums.overclockers.co.uk.

They helped me a lot when I built mine. Sites like Tigerdirect.com are great for components.
