I'm trying to contact various sites anout the possibility of linking to me or link exchanges. But there is a problem, they just have , etc... and no details of who the contacts are. I really don't want to put: Dear Sir, Hi, etc.. As this just shreiks Spam. Any ideas what i can put that won't get the mail immediately deleted? Please forward to Webmaster, Head of Business Development (this also screams spam to me as well.) Thanks for any suggestions.
state "link exchange request" in your subject or, better yet, leave the subject blank. that always entices me to look for some reason.
Thanks Matt, But it's once it's opened that the problems begin - if it's opened by the secretary say - she has to screen for what's important and without a name of anyone in particular it's quite obvious i'm fishing.
I always try to put useful information in the heading: Link exchange from asdfa.com to your site They can make a quick decision. It is also worthwhile to follow up with a phone call.
well it depends on the level of site you are contacting. most of the places where you can get links from will be small and independently run by probably only one person. think blogs and small sites. i think if you have to go through a secretary, you're creating much more work for yourself.
