I have tried creating groups for different landing pages even on different sites, some of my sites have thousands of Google indexed pages, it didn't make any difference to the first page minimum, it's always way over $10 even for low competitive keywords. Seems to me like they are slapping high values to any auto insurance realted keywords unless you know different?

Yes, that is a very competitive niche with high cost per click

Here's a little trick you can try...

search for one of your keywords in google then look at the #1 organic result

now set up an adwords campaign using that same keword and point your ad to the #1 organic result

the reason you do this is because Google already loves that website, that's why it 's #1

then bid the minimum 0.01 cent, now google will tell you how much you need to bid to get first page

that will be a good indicator as to how much the minmum would be know matter how relevant your website and campaigns are

    Example:

search for cheap auto insurance the #1 organic result is www.2insure4less.com

set up an adwords campaign using the keyword Cheap Auto Insurance

    Cheap Auto Insurance
    Cheap Auto Insurance Rates
    Get a Quote Within Seconds
    www.2insure4less.com

Thanks for this tip vstar, I will give it a try. I am not sure that the adwords rating criteria is the same as the SEO criteria but it's definately worth looking at.

That's the direction adwords is adopting - making same criteria so that surfers get very similar results no matter if they click on organic or sponsored.

So this technique is very powerful, thanks for sharing.
