HELP! I Can't Stop Checking Sales Stats!

Guys, I think I'm going crazy! I keep checking my clickbank sales stats SEVERAL times a day. The problem is that if I don't see sales.....this get's me extremely aggravated and I sometimes end up losing motivation.

I've already started with my "self-therapy" (lol) to stop checking so much. I haven't looked since 3pm yesterday. What I want to try and do is not check sales until every Wednesday morning (start of the new pay period), to just see what my sales were for the past week. The only thing I want to check through out the day is my article stats, CTR from the articles, CTR from my landing page, and just to make sure my hoplink works fine.

Now obviously you would have to check frequently if you are promoting using adwords so that you won't possibly end up spending too much money. But I promote strictly with article marketing, plus I pretty much have a formula established that has been producing significant sales over the past few months. So, because of that, I think I could handle checking sales stats once a week instead of once every 3 minutes!!!!

What do you do? Are you suffering from the same problem?

I use to check it a lot but now I just get text messages every time I make an affiliate sale or one as a vendor.

I used to have this problem too. I suggest you set up an email script so you don't need to log in anymore. I use CB Alert:

    http://www.clickbankbonusdominationreviewed.com/

You need to opt-in on the right hand side.

btw I hear you on the motivation. It really does get you down when no sales for a period when starting out. And then many sales in one day does the opposite, it psychs you up.

You need to plough on with your work and try to leave emotion out of it. Hard I know, but you need to.

You people talk about this "checking stats" problem like you are addicted to cocaine or alcohol.

Is it such a big deal to just NOT check your stats 50 times a day? Just don't do it, and that's it. Find something else to do - something more useful.

It's a good idea to check the stats few times a day, even if you are not doing PPC, but not every minute.

There's nothing wrong with the obsessive-compulsive behavior in checking affiliate sales. That's because it's what motivate us more.

If you need constant motivation, and trying to fullfill yourself by checking your stats every hour, then you got a problem...

As a former "stats junkie", I can relate to this. I had it down to where I only checked once at the end of each day, just to total up my amount earned for the day.

However, just 5 days ago, I tried promoting a new product (not CB) that has sold way more than I had expected (almost $700 in 5 days!) and now I'm back to checking stats a few times a day again! lol

Oh well, there are worse things to be addicted to than making money, right?? ;)

a quick tip that will help you to stop checking your stats so much, is that everytime you check them make an agreement with your self that you have to then write 3 articles, that way your not waisting anytime and will also help you in the long run.

Great! I found a Niche, Man I am writing an ebook on "How to overcome CB Addiction". Lol :D
I would say invest your time on niche founding and traffic building, you will earn lot more than current one.

I used to do it as well. But then I started focusing on getting more sales and stopped checking them too frequently.

Just set up email notification and stay logged into your messenger via phone or PC all day. You won't need to check. You'll get the reports every time a sale is made. Good luck..

when i was starting out in IM i was mostly selling WSOs and reports on forums via paypal.

I installed me a nifty application which monitored my paypal email, and every time i got a sale it played a "Cha Ching" sound on my computer. <--- thinking back, this is more than hilarious.

But...i can feel you, especially if i start a new campaign i also check stats often. But that's nothing compared to how often i check(ed) adwords stats. There's a few rule:

    1) The more often you check, the less sales you get :)
    2) Sales come always then when you didn't expect them at all.

At some time in the future you might be more be interested in sales over a longer time, and whether sales are consistent..eg. per month. Because if you check NOW and you made $150 bucks...this doesn't say anything what you make tomorrow or the next month. So..those "what i made today" is still cool, but it gets less important than eg. compared to what you make in a month, compared to what you pay for rent/bills/ads :)

If you did the market research, and it's a good product that actually sales, then there's not need to check it every three minutes. I think you're checking it so often because it's NOT making any sales. I know you said that you had a certain formula that you use to get sales, maybe you need to double check that formula for this product.
