I disappeared from google...

So if I go to my google webmaster central, it says I am #9 for the term "farm town", but oddly, my traffic dropped dramatically today, and the main reason looks like I am getting less than half from google as I was. I had previously been on the front page (depending on how it displays) if you search "farm town" but now I am not even in the top 10 pages of results for farm town.

Any ideas what the heck happened? What can I do?

    thanks all!

Have you done anything that you could have been penalized for?

    Hello,
If it is a new site, it is normal, keep working adding content and looking for backlinks.

The best thing you can do is to send email to Google and ask for human interpretation from Google. If you have newly submitted your website then it will take some time to get back in Search engine. Still in such scenario the ranking is lost  but you are not de-indexed.

Im getting no traffic from Google over 1 yr old site loads of original content and backlinks. Best thing to do is wait until it comes back.

Site still shows as indexed and the main index was cached on 14 Jul 2009 05:14:39 GMT
so ignore those that say it's a penalty etc.

You have done several posts in the last week or so, and since it is a blog, chances are the posts that were getting you the visitors have now moved to page 2 on your blog.... simple as that.

Main thing to do is improve your navigation so that older posts can be found easier, and thus they will rank better.

At the moment you don't even have a Categories menu.

it could be for a variety of reasons but normally it's own to you needing to continually build backlinks to your site. The more quality backlinks you build the better your SERPs is likely to be.
