This is no different than anyone else who prices their domains at whatever they believe to be a fair price for their name(s). In my subjective and personal opinion, your names aren't worth more $2k for the lot. The names are too long, and as someone else pointed out, no one searches for the term. Again, these are just my opinions. The names are your's to do with as you please, but don't rag others for doing the same thing. To them, the name may be worth what ever they're asking, and they will have a very long and happy life as the owner of it. ;)

I'm not knocking people for trying to sell their domains. You may not agree with my assessment of the particular set of domains I've priced at $16k, which is fair enough, although I think your assessment of $2k is a bit on the low side ;)

I'm making a point that pricing crappy domains at stupid 8 figure sums is a complete waste of time, for everyone. They will never sell and they will never get an offer (not a real one anyway). If they genuinely wish to sell their domains the price they set needs to be much more realistic.

    Hey Mc,
The 2k figure on your names was just my personal estimation of their worth to me. I meant no offense by it. I think you missed my point, which was that people who price their names like that aren't really wanting to sell them. They do it to make themselves feel important, brag to their friends on the playground during recess etc.

I believe the problem is they hear on the news that men.com sold for $1.3mm and they think "hell that's only 3 letters. That's $500k/letter!" So, they save up their lunch money for a week and go register a27letterdomanthatreadslikeasentence.com, and after another week of lunchtime fasting, throw it up on ebay and figure it's a steal at $10mm, since $500k/letter * 27 letters = $13.5mm.

Long story short, yes it can be annoying. I usually just have a laugh and keep on going. Good luck with your name sales. I'd be interested to know what they actually go for.

I almost bought a domain a few months back on ebay "beaverpoker.com" - guy who registered it had a great catch-line for it too "making a living on the river"

That was sweet. I got outbid at the last minute. $500 bucks or something

If I'm interested in a certain domain name that's for sale and the asking price is way up there with the cuckoo's, then I'll offer what I consider to be a fair price. The seller can ask what he wants, but I'll only ever pay what the domain is worth to me.
If I have a business idea that's expected to bring in the 10's of millions then I'd pay what it takes for the correct domain name - if that happens to be 10 million then so be it.

As the owner of thisdomainiscrap.com, I would like to inform you that it is not for sale. Although if you were to offer $10 million, I would perhaps reconsider.

some ridiculous domains in the past do have fetched sky high prices and that made ordinary domain portfolio owners think that same will apply for them :)
