    i don't agree.

from my experience, articles provide MUCH more SEO power than standalone links. Why is this? because the links at the bottom of the article are embedded in related content. and it makes sense that referring sites should be related somehow. i dont think backlinks MUST be from related sites, but it helps a hell of a lot.

Still, I've seen site with 30 relevant backlinks score very high in the SERP's and get a PR=5. This means that relevant links are at least much more important than non-relevant, although I do believe that those count too.

Relavlant links help more in actually getting somone from that relavant site to go directly to your site. Search engines are important, but dont forget that people actually use those links too.

BTW the offer is still up to add any PG link to my site - carolinainvestor.com. Login and the user menu will have an option where you can submit a link. My disclaimer is that I am still testing this site so you will be a partial guinea pig...

I would agree, however, the best scenario would be relevant links to highly authoritative sites.

Of course any link from a good neighborhood is a good link. But a link from a site in a related niche is more valuable. Again, the power of the backlink increases with the PR of the site providing it, so a link from a site in a related niche with high PR is very powerful...

I agree. If you can't get related links then go for any link as it all helps. I have sites with page 1 google rankings where all their backlinks are from unrelated sites. If you can get a related link then that's great as I think it does help a bit more and you'll get the added bonus of some potential click through traffic. However don't stress too much if you can't get related links as anything is better than nothing.

Yes, non relevant link still a good link.

But definitely relevant one is better as it will most likely to bring you visitors.

    hi guyz,

Just back from a 7 days BST ban and saw some good comments to comment on.

Yeah, no doubt 10 relevant links rank better then 30 non-relevant links.

But at the same time think of this situation.

Time taken for 30 high quality non relevant links would be around 1-2 days only if worked 8-9 hours a day. And 10 relevant links would take you more then 1 week. At the same time you can get much more % of the non-relevant links to rank you higher then relevant ones.

So, relevant links are better but the thing is that they are not enough, and if they are, the time taken to find is very expensive.

    It's a please helping you.

This is a pure myth that relevant links are only to comment on. So, just find good blogs to comment on, and just comment, don't spam.

That's the way to go for. Even I have a site ranking on 1# page of the google for more then 10 keywords. Most of the links are non-relevant but the comments made on them are high quality.

Who says the ratio is 3:1, do you know something the rest of the world does not?

And... If it takes you that long to get in bound links then you are doing something very wrong my friend!

the OP never stated that it doesn't but that all links have value. For most people they will find that there are far more non relevant links they can obtain than relevant.

    Ok...

I think this argument is simple.

Any link from a "trusted" site is always a good link.

However, Google. would not be where it is if it did not weight relevant links. Google was built on relevancy, that is what the searcher wants, the most relevant information to their query. If this bullshit about non-relevant links was true, SEO would be easier than shitting in a toilet.

That being said, I will never, and have never said that non-relevant links are worthless. What kind of moron thinks that? However, if you're going to spend your time, you might as well find something relevant. Not only does it boost your SEO, but can drive quality traffic.

Another thing, this guys "physical therapist," theory. Are you kidding? I didn't know local physical therapy results were so hard to get #1. Yeah, if you smash Google with a bunch of backlinks, they will notice. What about longevity though?

I'm so sick of this argument. Just think about it guys. If Google always talks about relevancy and all that bullcrap, then why would they suddenly say, oh, well links are totally different.

u know what I guess what u said here is called link bait that is for example u write a provocative or controversial article or blog post could irritate or interest people enough that they want to write about you and thus link to you. Vast numbers of high quality links can be acquired in a short space of time. Linkbait methods can help sites rank well in highly competitive market places.
but the truth is how often-- say ,President Clinton or so was having an indiscretion with a young intern named ,,,,,--this kinda thing happen and it happens to be acquired first by u(as we know once it becomes spread on one links to u anymore , it's everywhere).
This is one of the hardest techniques to execute effectively. There is a degree of chance involved and it helps to have great content in one form or another.
and the revelency is blurred word according to me.
