I do not prefer to run better have jogging early in the morning. This is more recommended exercise. I remember in my high school days, i prefer to join what they called "FUN RUN" running for about 5km - just a trip and achievement for me. LOL
Just used mapmyrun to tweak my route to get it up to 10km and to get a zig zag route to use once the mornings get really dark so that I avoid risky parks etc. If you haven't used one of the mapmy[run/ride/hike/etc] sites or their clones it's totally recommended.
I own marathoneffort.com and am using it to track my progress in running the 2010 Virgin London Marathon....I am addicted...only start running 3 months ago !
I was actively involved in sports during my school days. But no more. I am gaining weight steadily. If this continues in ten years I will not be able to walk let alone run. IM is really stressful and since the lifestyle is not active it is no wonder that I am gaining weight.
I used to do running daily about 4-5 years back but now, its no more than a light jog in the morning for half an hour! Regards, RightMan
Running is pretty lame for guys. Not only will it make you look like a skinny twirp that women will laugh at and guys will beat up, but it it is hard on your knee joints and is plain agonizing. I bodybuild. Its fun and I love seeing my muscles all pumped up.
Nicely said, an American mindset. I'm trying to get in shape for soccer, so I've been running. I had surgery recently though so I had to take a little break. I think I'll get back into running tomorrow though.
I used to run a lot, running around a large lake beside our school ( 8 to 10 miles ) . Actually I am good at long distance running and jogging .
I cannot run more than 500 meters at a stretch. its not that I get tired or anythin. But for some weird reason, severe pain starts in my stomach, around kidneys.. I don't know why this happens. If I walk more than 5 km, I start having the same problem, even though I'm not tired and can easily do more... But I love weight-training... Has anyone else experienced such a thing?
Just finished and 8km run in 59 minutes, do you think that's good form or should I be aiming higher? Been running every other day solidly for a motnh now and it's amazing how quickly your stamina improves, used to take me 45 minutes to do 4.5km
One of the best way to exercise to burn fat is to run and walk on intervals, run fast a few minutes then slow down, then again, 20 to 30 minutes a day can achieve great results. Ray
Yeh that's what ive been doing, been pushing myself for an hour to see how long I could keep it up. What's that method of training called I've forgotten?
running is the best exercise for me... i run almost 5kms regularly.... started from 2kms and gradually increased my stamina..
