Till now, Google dominates more than 80% of the global search market. However, when it comes to the SEO race, no one wants to be left behind.

How is SEO for Bing Different from Google?

So, please share your ideas and experience with DP members :)

For me.. Bing is still a buzz that might remain for a month more. As there are SEO companies too who would not support bing and would be ultimately always keep talking about Google and promoting it. And i didn't see much normal searchers changing their mind yet. Only a few webmasters have started using bing just to explore how it is.

Look, try taking the "Bing Challenge." I dare any of you to. Try just using Bing for a week. I'll bet you last 1-2 days at most.

Their Algo just is not nearly as good as Google's. They just reorganized the info that MSN/Live had in a prettier package. Polished a turd, if you will.

But if you want good visibility in Bing you need to have references from many different sources. Have Video, blogs, social profiles, press releases, etc. Having a good "online PR" campaign will give you great visibility.

No, I don't worry about it at all.

As the poster above me stated...

polishing a turd, just makes the turd more attractive... but alas, is still a turd.

If you write good content or have a good site people can benefit from, and you build lots of one way backlinks then it does not matter what search engine people are using!

When I tested my keywords with Bing they did not rank as well as with Google.

Unless it really takes off I won't bother optimising anything for Bing.

At the beginning of June Microsoft released their new search engine Microsoft Bing, this search engine was designed to rival Google’s dominance. Now that the search engine has been live for just over a month we are now taking a look at how it has affected the market.
Performance wise Bing is said to be pretty much on a par with Google, with both search engines reporting back similar search results, that said its hard to see Bing really pushing Google hard at anytime now.

I try bing still my heart not there yet and in fact i have some negative feelings about its searched. Whenever i search the keywords it shows something not so accurate. For example if you search a site i do "Norton". Google would show www.symantec.com on the first list of the results whereas Bing do quite differently showing some community forums discuss about norton.

So i guess bing still no good ;). Even if bing going to be good soon. But i would rather stick to Google to search, why need so many search engine switch here and there when one have better result than others

Nope, I guess we still need not to worry ourselves with the uprising of Bing. Google has been the best for years now. And have you ever tried WolfRamAlpha?, a new search engine that's mathematically knowledgeable in any queries you give it...

All the search engine algorithms looks like the same.

So, no no need to worry about it.

Just concentrate on promoting your site.

If you got the result in Google, 80% it also comes in Bing.

    Cool...

yea you usually find that if your ranked in google your going to be there or there abouts in yahoo and bing.

for aslong as google carries on bringing in the bulk of traffic then i really wouldnt worry about anything else, ive got my sites on the 1st page, near the top on the biggest phrases in both bing and yahoo, but still barely a blip in the amount of traffic coming through these sites.
