Which is better for business - Blog or a static Site ?

I have a website for my company - www.abtexintl.net, I am thinking to switch that to a Wordpress blog.

Need to know which one is better a Blog or Static site ? Which is more easily and faster indexed by Google and other search engines for my keywords?

 

What i can say, is nowaday, blog is a MUST.

 

I would imagine a blog is easier to maintain and add new content, but I why not just start up a blog on its own and just keep your static site?

 

I'd say blogspot over wordpress as they are owned by google..

 

Why choose? Why not use both? A blog can complement a website. Just be sure that you have control over SEO factors if you use a 3rd party blog host.

 

hummm... I think you can't really compare both. I mean, there are many people who are able to make of their blogs a very profitable or business experience and thus they don't need of any static website, just the blog. It all depends on your needs or what you intend to do with an online business

wordpress is better than blogspot. My own experience. You get a nice PR on wordpress blog than on a blogspot blog.

it doesnot matter if blogspot is of google, wat matters is quality.!

Blog and cms are recommended . It is covenient to manage the content .
Nowadays who is still using static site/pages ?

 

Id go for Wordpress as well, have used it on many sites and have to say ive never had a problem. Search engines tend to love dynamic (good) content, so a blog is a must!

 

I'd say do both, you can get good site ratings from constantly updating your blog... So do both

 

Why opt for just one or the other. Blogs serve a different purpose than a static site. While company websites are great for providing easily accessible information to potential clients and costumers, blogs allow you to interact with those costumers as well as other experts in your industry. It makes sense and may likely do your business well to have both a static site and a blog.

 

I agree with MayaLocke. Why not use both? It all comes down to what your requirements and wishes are for your site. On my site, I use static pages mixed with a CMS (Drupal) and it works fine.

I agree with other posters about using both. If you're trying to get traffic faster, though, you should definitely set up a blog. Wordpress blogs get indexed really fast. Sometimes within a few hours.
