Hi, Personally speaking i don't think it matters if your website content doesn't match your domain name. What Mozillia Firefox have to do with web browsing. What does Yahoo and Lycos have to do with search engines. I believe its just a personal choice. Thanks
It is important to have domain name in sync with the content on your website as it becomes easy for search engines to rank you well in serps for your keyword in your niche and for visitors to know what to expect. It is not important to be in sync, only if you intend to make a brand name out of it but you should be ready to spend a lot on advertising in trying to build a brand name! Regards, RightMan
It's always a good idea to have your own domain and I dont think it will drive away business. Just like the examples FilthyRich gave, you can see it doesn't really matter if the website and domain do not match.
Well it depends. Say it's, "Dexes.com" Dexes is not a word, so it could be used for anything. Therefore making it not important. But if you had something like. "Gaming-For-Life.com" and it was a hosting site, it would probaly matter.
Domain names are important, but they dont have to be relevant, but they have to be either simple to remember or relevant with your contents. (In a way helps your visitor to remember your domain name in order to retain much of the traffic).
I agree with GregM. If you can come up with a unique, bradable domain it can be used for almost any topic. However if you have a keyword domain and use it for something irrelevant than I think it will make your site look silly and lose you business. I also believe having your target keywords in your domain helps in SE rankings, not much but a little bit and every little bit can help sometimes.
yup..election domain is very important to drive away business...make sure you must know for pick a great domain
Your domain name is very important and it should revolve around your website content. I often try to get keyword rich domain names that relate to my content and it boosts my sites SEO score dramatically. However, if you're going for branding, that's another strategy.
Hello, The domain name does not server the purpose of the content of your site then it will effect your business. The clients by reading the domain name should understand the purpose and the aim of the site.
I agree with GregM. It really all depends. I would say that if you want a domain to coincide with your business, you should get a keyword domain or a brandable domain name (like websites like Yahoo, Google, and Hulu have done). Plus, brandable domains names are much more flexible.
Yes it's very important to have a domain name that matches content, intent, purpose of the website.....indeed quite a lot
who knows that google's meaning ? i still dont know its meaning but i dont know how many times i search on google in the day
Sure it is! Domain name can boost your SEO and of course you would like to have related domain name for your site.
i believe how "brandable" your domain name is more important/ Can people remember it? can people say it easily? Can people type it easily? Good domain name are usually two words or less. If i have guidesaboutdogstraining.com , how many vistors will bother? It's relevant but too long and not easily remembered.
