Hey Basically I got a new site (http://www.fliptexteffects.com), it should work off viral marketing soon but I need the visits to start. I am wondering the best ways to get traffic to it? I was thinking of posting in Facebook groups, is this a good idea? I have been using the big subjects on Twitter to also promote it, awaiting results on that. Done a few blog comments but didn't see much come from that, been building up my back links which I hope will help my ranking. It's only been up like 2 days but got no traffic from search engines how can I improve this? What keywords should I be looking for? I am also submitting to 100 directories currently got someone on that. Basically what else can I do, I feel there is room out there to get my site out to the younger generation that would have some fun with this stuff but I don't know how to get it to the point where their friends will be asking them and then their friends etc. Thanks Stephen

If you were to go through this forum you would get a million different ways to promote your website, but I am going to help you out just a little bit. Sorry about that I completely understand but it's just this site is a little different to what I usually try as in it's not really got a topic, for example web hosting. It's giving me a bit of bother in how to do Article Marketing but I will follow your advice and do some more searching also. Thanks
One other thing... A very interesting concept. What is the motivation behind flip text? I'm very curious! Also, you could promote this as your anchor text if you decide to do article marketing and anything else of that nature. "flip text effects" You definitely need a little work done to your website's meta tags as well, but you are #2 on Google for the above keyword phrase.
Just one of those random ideas that came into my head really. I know it's got potential because having it in my MSN name caused a lot of stir with friends of the age of about 25! I think it's going to be even bigger with the kids I just gotta get to the point where people friends ask their friends who ask their friends etc. Finding the topic pretty tough but I like the challenge to make it a success!
Hey Steve, Have you registered your site on any search engines yet? I did and it did help a bit. Do be careful what services you use. At least register on google, yahoo etc. My site (click on my profile and click view members' homepage) has been live for about 3 months and I am just now starting to get regular traffic, most from google searches. It's a start but 20 unique visitors a day is better than zero. My question is where do I go from here. My ad rep company will take me on when I reach 500,000 uv's / month. I too need help and advice. You need to focus and put a lot of time in. I think article marketing would work for you, try get as many back links for your site as possible. This includes putting it in your sig, that's just another back link.
Select targeted keywords for your business and do link building like bookmarking, forum, press release submission etc... It's really helpful for increase SE traffic.
Like you said, this sort of thing would be targeted at teens'ish age. So I recommend using myspace, twitter, hubpages and youtube. Just to get the word out first. Then I'd join teenage forums and put a link to it in your signature and add a few posts here and there promoting your site (not too often and try to keep it non spammy). Then if you have the money, do some keyword research and use google adwords to create targeted ads for optimal price. I'd also look into sponsoring myspace layout type sites. do some video promotions...make some clips and upload them to youtube, you could make your own channel with videos there....
PPC is the best way to promote your website, requires little investment but if you know how to do it right, you will do well.
excellent website, ive never seen anything like that on the web before, would it work as a password? meaning, would the server read it correctly? ive tried pasting it into everything and has worked except notepad.. just came up with square blocks..
Post on forums, Youtube, and hang out in chat rooms. People will ask how you flip your text, and you can tell them where you do it. I definitely think viral marketing will take off for this type of site after a few weeks.
set up a twitter account for it and add people with an interest in your niche. I did this myself as a test for a dummy site the other day and within 24 hours of making the new twitter account I had received 74 hits from twitter so it does work.
u can try video promotion...and u can promote your website...from it...this is the best way to promote websites....
