What are Affiliate/ CPA networks?

    Hi all, just came across a good threat on how to make money with these types of networks. But i really have no idea what they are? can someone explain how these types of networks work and make money ?

    CPA means Cost Per Action
    CPA Gateway means a gateway that floats on your page where you are adding the code
    The visitor will get access to your page only after a successful action done by him.
    I am using a survey gateway. ie: whenever a person visits a download page he will be prompted for doing a survey and he will get access to the links only after the completion of a survey.The owner of the site is getting paid for that survey from the CPA network.
    To do this you need only a single line code on your page

    Is there a free or basic ebook which explains how users can make money from these networks? i mean a noobie kind of guide.
