Does Adsense ban words it doesnt like?

I know that Adsense does not like certain subjects and does not allow pages to have advertising on those pages. I am thinking adult content and so on, I have a site about Thailand and one of 130 pages is about Ladyboys, no adult talk or promotion of adult content just an article about them with no mention of sex and so on, but adverts do not show up.
I also have a travel site about Spain, I noticed one of the pages there was not showing advertising, I couldn't figure it out it is a list of beaches in the area with a short description.
And then I saw it one of the beaches was "nudist" I removed 'nudist' and replaced it with "clothing optional" and after a while up came the adverts. has anyone else noticed something similar with other words?

They will not ban words.. adsense will not be shown in pages with unacceptable words and you will also receive a warning...

Maybe for those keywords you're using, there's no adwords.

yes they do have a list of word that will trigger PSA's.
even if you had adsense on that site for 5 years and never had content that never violated the TOS,the word nudist could trigger PSA's to show on that page.
when the adsense bot revisted that page there were no words that were "bad" so the ads would show again.
it's googles way to "protect advertisers".

You might want to try contacting Google directly about this and see what they say... just to be on the safe side.
