So who else is a coaster nut? I spend most of my time on theme park forums and try to ride them as much as possible (even though there's only like 14 or so in all of Australia!). There has been a strange connection with people that are involved in the lighting industry are also coaster-nuts. It would be interesting to see if this is the case with webmasters also! Cheers, Ponynugget
what's the biggest one over there? They keep building these giant ass ones here (one here in Tampa supposedly drops you at 90 degrees straight down which seems impossible).
My favorite coaster- 1. Batman (Great America, Illinois) 2. Zeus (Wisconsin Dells) 3. Voyage (Indiana) 4. Raging Bull (Great America, Iliinois) 5. Space Mountain (Disney World) They have one here.... http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatamerica/Rides/giantdrop.html
I'm not avid but I'll ride a few should they present themselves....I absolutely cannot go backwards though!!!
That'd be SheiKra. I think the drop is just under 90 degrees. The tallest here is Tower of Terror. It's close to 400' tall and is a clone of Superman: The Escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Space Mountain, Rob? Ouch. Last time I went on that I felt like my back was gonna tear itself out and leave me. That thing is a chiropractor's dream! The hulk coaster at Universal is awesome. So is the rockin' roller coaster at MGM. I cant imagine a 90 drop down. I can't see how it stays on the tracks : P
crazy mein that ride looks fuckin awesome "That'd be SheiKra. I think the drop is just under 90 degrees."

A roller coaster has three sets of wheels. One on the "top" side of the rail, one on the side and another underneath the rail. Essentially this means that the car is locked to the track and won't be going anywhere. There are even a couple of coasters that go beyond 90 degrees!
