    * 6 - Google Bought DoubleClick. DoubleClick is in the business of keeping track of what you do, and then selling that data to advertisers. They’re a spyware company, and programs such as Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware both identify their cookies as dangerous. Google’s ownership of this company, combined with their own database, makes them the biggest threat to individual privacy of all time. Google now owns a spyware company, need I say more? Yes.

    Why is this here ?

I agree with you on a lot of your points. But I believe the best way for people to boycott Google is to start using alternatives. Google is already starting to show signs of decay in the search engine field but that doesn't mean they are loosing share. For that to happen people need to start exploring other means.

Hell if all the members of DP put together a real effort to challenge Google in the SE department it might be a moderate success.

If you are optimizing for those silly engines you are missing the boat. I am involved in so many different areas, and Google dominates. If you do it properly, you will rank on all. Focus on Google, the others will follow. If you can't, then give up the game. You can start flipping burgers at McDonald's and work your way up to management. Really dude, if you're that naive, give it up, you simply don't get it.

If I had time I would address each point, but as I don't I will focus on the part above.

When you say they lost a 'bunch' of email, how many and what is your source? I have been using gmail for years and never had a problem. Not saying it didn't happen but it is not a regular occurance by any means.

If an email is financially and legally critical as you put it, print out a hard copy and save the file to disk. Don't rely on anyone else for this kind of backup.

You are also saying they shouldn't keep any logs after mail has been deleted incase they are hacked and credit card numbers and passwords are stolen. This makes no sense - if the information is sensitive it shouldn't be in an email to start with.

As for showing ads - why else should they offer a FREE email service?

I could go on but most of your arguments sound like a case of sour grapes.

Google is already a monopoly, in many aspects of the web. I believe they should stick to the web and computers and not dabbling in other company's that are based in their niche.

I absolutely agree with your statement. I have recently started to optimise my website for Yahoo and Bing; I hope eventually I will get lots of quality traffic from them.

Resistance is futile, as they say. Better focus your time and energy on something productive, rather than fighting a lost cause.

Why boycott the best search engine and we rely on heavily in our daily searches and source of information. Try Yahoo and MSN you will spent the whole day finding what you need. Hopeless search engines

    Gracias buddy ;)
This should go on my blog. Google doesn't like duplicates, but hey, this is the end of the line for Google; well at least from me. It's time to turn it all around..
Google steals. I will not tolerate that.
Post this up on your blogs people! This should do very well in gaining you traffic while kicking off Google [IMG]

You boycott Google and then you prefer that Bing will dominates? You really want that Microsoft monopoly all aspect of IT department? I'd rather not.
But I also agreed that no one should have too much power and monoply everything.
