would forum posting help my site serp ?
I run a few automotive forum with decent traffic (80 - 1500 uv), posting my classifieds in the forum with a link (particular classifieds), will it help me to create more back link and boost my serp ?

Most site footer and side bar already have my automotive classifieds link and all site host under different IP :)

    thanks

Forum posting is one of the best and effective way for a certain site to get crawled and easily index. And yes, forum posting is also an effective SEO avenue for a better search engine visibility.

Backlinks from forum posting can still help your ranking. But you need more permanent links. The benefits of forum links tend to be very temporary.

Answer to your question is YES if the forum where you are posting is indexed by google immediately

For example : DP thread is indexed by google in 5mins after you post it , ITS MAGIC

no not magic but basically google weight DP forum high and crawl rate is faster its amazing so it index's thread on digitalpoint very soon

It helps because signature links are considered as one way backlinks.

I definitely think that forum links help out when it comes to ranking high in the SERPS. Think of it this way, a one way link will always be a one way link. So, every single link you are getting from a forum post is a one way link on its own which is going to be beneficial one way or another.

Forum postings do help in SERP's but all you need to ensure is that you participate in Dofollow forums. As dofollow links are considered as backlinks for a site whereas nofollow only acts as a traffic generation source. And backlinks are an important element in SERP positions.

I like to think of signature links as advertising. They may help your ranking a bit, but there are so many other ways to get links out there, many better ways.

It would but don't like 1000 posts from one forum, that is very bad.

What gives you this idea? Actually, I suspect it is just the opposite. Many links from one forum carry more weight than a single link from many forums.

Think about it. If you were trying to control the effects of forum spam in your search engine, which would look more suspicious?

yes it helps alot, but alot of people aren't capitalizing on it these days, as its very time consuming, registering up to each forum takes a few minutes at best, as you have to confirm your registration via email, and sometimes the emails arent sent out immediately. And auto registration bots are becoming redundant, as the 'are you human' drop down menu implementations and catchpas are stopping it.

But its great if you can outsource it... :)
