If you could advertise your website in anyway (cost is no object)...

what would it be? Don't give me the unlimited google adsense account. Think bigger! Think like being featured on the Today Show, or on the front page of the NY Times, or the cover story for a magazine that relates to your niche.

I personally would would to have a featured profile on myspace in the same sense that XMen did when the movie came out. And sense that feels almost like cheating, I would say being the featured story in a teenager/high school focused magazine such as Seventeen or Teen People.

Money no object? I'd buy Google, Yahoo, MSN & MySpace and place my ads on all of their sites.

I'd do what KPN did in Holland before they launched their mobile phone service. For months, probably 4-6, can't quite remember, every billboard in town just said "Hi". Nothing else. TV comemrcials; "Hi". It went on and on and everybody was talking about it, scratching their head.

Then they launched their service called "Hi" no need to advertise it anymore, everybody knew the brand and it instantly 'clicked' as in knowing what it was.

That was clever marketing.

Other idea would be to copy that split second TV ad. 3 or 4 frames I think it was. You'd only need, white on black, "yourdomain.com" and show it every ad block. No need for sound or an explanation, people will come if you keep doing it long enough.

Other wild ideas would involve swapping some of Nou Camp's flood lights with Black Lights and then write your brand or URL on the pitch of Barcelone the night before the Champions League final. Coating only shows when they lights come on - too late to call it off

 

If cost really isn't a subject I might consider turning the moon into my personal animated billboard.

For this I would use giant multi faceted stones that would act as a giant grid of pixels. Through the night the stones would reflect back to Earth from the sun the color of the facet that is currently facing the Earth. Every month or so you could rearrange the stones for different ads.

I don't even like Harry Potter. Several years ago a few co-workers called me Harry Potter even though the only resemblance to him I can think of are the glasses.

 

I'd promote my indie music sites by sponsoring more shows, larger ones, and tours, and invest it into running my own huge battle of the bands-styled promotional event.

I would do a ton of high Page Rank sponsering on all sorts of sites; I would go massivley viral and promote that like crazy... I would hire the greatest seo and get #1 rankings for all my main keywords and I would purchase solo ads in every opt in list in my indusrty...

 

Well, I think TV would be my game.... and those billboards are so nice... I would put something like: Who is hlksdfnhslkh.com? for about 6 months...

I'd buy the entire Google company and then retire.

 

first pay 300k to the big networks 100k each is the minimum anyway then do the rest

 

I would find out the day the satellite image for Google Earth was being taken and spray powder with 30 cropdusters making my website's URL written out 4 kilometres wide.

The surrounding publicity even before it got on GE would be huge. Don't worry about the court fines & bail charges - cost is no object!

 

If money was truly no object, I would put my computer out to pasture and see the world.

If slightly less money were in play, I would run tv ads during, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and all of the CSI shows. Then again, that would still be enough to retire.

 

Sponsor a big, big Poker tournament, which is broadcasted on TV.

 

Get a link on the index page of Google...and hope the server can handle all the visitors.

 

Get a link to all of my sites on every porno ever published right after the us legal garbage that is on every one of them ...or...less adult oriented...hmm

rename Hollywood my website branding network's name .

 

Give the money to Dubya's party fund and get him to wear a t-shirt with my domain name on it
