Ok, I have a review copy of Plan C (40 links) at the review price of $20 - here are my thoughts..

On initial contact, I was asked for some information about the url, some keywords etc and after replying, the next message I received was the username/pass access details for a newly setup Gmail account which contained an attachment to the link submission report. The process overall was fairly fast and handled well.

There were indeed 40 unique domains, all high profile sites with big pagerank, though not all of them were PR7-PR9, as some appeared to have dropped a notch or two in the last update, but not a real problem, as most of the sites were PR7-9. Quite a few of the sites you will already be remotely familiar with, they are a mixture of popular public services, social, and similar type of sites. The backlinks appear on subpages or subdomains - some of these were clean (i.e. human friendly urls) and a few were 'dirty' (as in parameters based index.php?attribute=value&so=on) urls, so it's difficult to say how likely the search engines will pick up on those pages and take notice of your backlink, though I did find a few of the pages were already indexed in Google, so that's a good sign that there is some value in it.

There are some criticisms, for example, a couple of the site backlinks did not exist, perhaps the profile was deleted by the site admins or whatever reason seen as potential spam. Not all the sites were keyword based anchor texts, several were just plain http://example.com url based link backs, though a link back to your site is still good. However, I did find that 7 of the 40 sites were 'nofollow' backlinks, and atleast another one was very dubious in that it required you to login to see your link on your homepage (similar to an iGoogle page) which really is a gimmick and doesn't count as a link.

The conclusion? this was my honest review and feedback and you may have various feelings about it, but link building is something I have a fair amount of experience in and I can make a judgement about whether this package added value to that effort or not, and in my opinion, despite some of the obvious issues I described earlier, overall this was still worth it. You can't have unrealistic expectations and think your pagerank will shoot through the roof as if you were getting links from direct PR7-9 pages, if you expected that, you should also expect to spend $$$ thousands - but for the service you are getting, the seller is taking the headache and hassle of creating an account and registering on the various sites and including your link on some subpage within the site, and at this price it is easy to justify. So I would recommend this package as a supplement to your existing promotion efforts, provided you have realistic expectations and see it as part of your link building campaigns.
