Hi, I am completely new to this. But have years of experience in corporate e-Marketing. So trying to learn extra skills. I have a mature domain (out of the sandbox) that is getting around 500 highly targeted uniques per month. It was just parked with sedo giving around 10% click-through rate. Domain is gameworkshop.co.uk (sorry, no links for me yet ) and the target is Warhammer. After reading through this forum, I’ve decided to take the following action: 1. Fully host the domain 2. Sign to clickbank and get Warhammer and WoW vendors. 3. Put a wordpress based site and start promoting So here goes a spare evening and the site is up. I haven’t started the promotion yet, but will do it. My questions to the gurus is: Am I doing everything right? Is it better just to send my uniques via 301 redirect to the vendor with best gravity? I do need some guru input and will keep posted of the success. Thanks!
First thing I noticed with your website was Adsense ads....If you want to make sales with CB, GET RID OF THE ADSENSE!!! It is driving traffic to other places, and not selling your products that your trying to sell....Now, that seems like a first step. You need to make sure that your meta tags / picture tags / ect are all SEO. Releasing original content helps alot too. Videos, audio, articles, ect. THen you can Use social book marking to advert...balh balh, there is alot more to it,but that is just a start for you.
Also don't give every guide a 5 star rating, pick one and make the rest 2, 3 or 4 stars...its more believable that way
Big problem with this site - you need to make it clear what you want the visitors to do. Right now, it just looks like a content site and people will be wanting to read about stuff, not buy things. Try making a central box which tells the user what they will get the most benefit from (I.E "CHECK OUT THIS WARHAMMER GUIDE" or something)
Hi, guys Thanks a bunch for your input! Rating – overlooked, will change. Short sales pitch, yep, need to add. Adsense: there are two reasons why I keep it: adsense creates impression that the rest of a site is not an ad, want to see the click-through ratio between adsense and CB vendors. But it’s for my own analytics. I will toggle that field on-off and check the click-through changes.
You need a SALES PAGE, not a blog with content. That's your main problem. Check out your competitors and you will see what I mean.
Probably I didn’t explain my goal fully. Yes, I can put a landing page with a long sales pitch, no problem with that. But actually I am interested in defining strategy which includes best practices from both large B2Bs / B2Cs and affiliate sales. So it’s not about quick buck, but mostly a sandbox for strategies. My aim is to built trust, when it happens it is possible to sell virtually everything. Building trust takes a bit longer but, in my opinion, – worth it.
A landing page sounds like it would work far better for you then a blog, blogs are for content with advertisements not advertisements with a little content.
I am actually going to increase content. Otherwise I could have simply 301 or 302 redirect my domain to one of the vendors. I want to check how the affiliate strategy couples with content and adverts. BTW, had more than 150 hops through in 2 days. No sales… Hmmm, have to think about it.
Nice Nice! I Like your site! Very Nice Coding! But I Only have 3 Tips (or wishes) #1) Do Away with the Google Ads! They take you're consumers away from your site! To Some they DON'T even click on it because it IS a Google Ad! Try your Clickbank Ad builder! And Don't use Iframe use "List" it will make Your Sponsors look more Navbar Realistic! #2) Don't Rate everything Top Notch! Consumers won't really know "What's HOT and Whats Not! Instead YOU Choose the Hot Topic! Remember "Wandering Minds Inquire"! #3) Where's your Theme Music? Google the code to Autostart your YouTube Video!!! Make their "visiting your page" scene into an Adventure !!! Remember: A couple of Whips make Clickbank Rock!!! lol
