Maybe you should publish more news on your website. Something unique and controversy will do the trick ;-)
agree completly. But still here are some tips; You can write lots of articles and submit it in article directories. Create videos about your niche and submit to video sites like youtube. Again, you can create tutorials with images and submit it to flickr. Participate in the forums. But not like you do. Try to help people and try to answer their question. Only provide links in your signature. Not within the treads
The point is with news sites that you need to be online all the time (or get it automated) to provide "Breaking News!" content. Unless you are then why would anyone bother when you have Giants in the industry. Focus on a niche (celebrity, sport, regional, tech) and get your RSS feeds spammed as much as you possibly can. People near a rumour and search for it online, Google doesn't care about dates so the resulrts at the top might be years old (in other words, no longer news) so you need your word in RSS format, syndicated and sent to as many aggregators as possible. Then whenever your RSS gets updated, it is automatically spread. Aggreagtors:
For a news website you want to target the up to date websites so rather than working with directories or article marketing perhaps submit press releases, social bookmarking news stories, and get in with the bloggers.
