Pagerank 4 without any kind of seo or advertising

I just found out that my team's website has page rank 4. Thing is, I didn't bother to advertise it, or validate it, or make it SEO friendly. Also it's mainly flash! I really don't understand how it could reach PR4. http://facepalmstudio.com. Any ideas guys? Hopefully I didn't do any blackhat SEO by mistake :|

Yeah but I'm not interested in driving trafic to that site, it's just for a portofolio, and I don't want to put Adsense on it. I wanted to know what I did to get PR4 since I wanna do that on my new blog, hence that's the one I want to get traffic to it.

 

yeah another reason why PR is not the greatest way to measure, but I'm not going to lie-I'd take free PR any day of the week!

 

It is quite normal because google think they are authoratative pages .
I used to review a company site that is 5 years old .
All the pages (totally 100+ pages) are with pr, many with pr5 or pr4 .

you are really lucky. but remember this page rank may loss very quickly. so do SEO and find good backlinks

 

Google Crawler also checks the content of the website if its unique and having more worth it also give the site better PR position. Now try to maintain the rank via backlinks and unique content goodluck buddy.

You have a PR6 backlink, that's what did it. Plus you have a few PR3 backlinks.

PR is nice if you want to get into the link selling business, or simply bragging rights....but good luck getting traffic to a flash site!

 

A site of mine got PR3 with just few hundred backlinks, and another site with thousands of backlinks only managed to reach PR1.

PR can increase or decrease. If your site is new, then may be in the next PR update, its PR will decrease: Unless this site gets some quality backlinks.
