What does a directory have to do to get listed into Vilesilencer.com? I've e-mailed the owner several times and he hasn't replied back, is this just a guy promoting his own directories? Example: On the site it says Top Directories included are some quality directories such as AliveDirectory and then abcsubmission.com I quickly checked the backlinks and it only has 47. I don't get this directory list. Is this just a fee based thing.
You are right chetan. Contact him regarding your matter and he'll definately do something for you we hope.
I've replied several times to you nate_king1. You continue to use my contact form and ask me the same questions despite the fact that I have already answered them for you. If you want to get listed you need to provide me the information that I have asked for, 3 times now. Everyone else seems to be able to get onto the list very easily. Don't attempt to discredit my website because you are unable to follow the simple steps.
silencer, We did some biz back a few months ago. It's all good too! Thanks. I have some new sites and blogs that have received updates from Google. Would you list them?
nate_king1, why do u want to get listed in Vilesilencer list if you think it's not good enough ? Nothing bad to Vilesilencer intended Dan here by asking this question...!!
The Whimpering Warrior, please PM me, I don't want to hijack the thread by soliciting business in it. I'm hoping that nate_king1 can provide me his details if he is as interested as he says he is. honey no offence taken, I'm interested in hearing the answer to that too. If I was pushing my own directories only, that means I own 408 general directories. I must be the directory king LOL To clear up the "Top Directories" section, thats personal opinion. It's not a rated system like a TopSite. Anyone can be placed there.
I wanted to advertise with you But I asked your rates and you failed to reply. I asked buying questions: traffic stats, some case studies and I never heard of you again.
Dear Nate, As a customer of Vilesilencer I can assure you that your assumption about Dan promoting only his own directories is quite incorrect and indeed without any substance what-so-ever. Dan has nothing to gain by not replying to you and perhaps something to lose, after all his website is a business. It is your responsibility to ensure that you can receive the replies that are being sent to you. I have had a directory in Dan's list for about a year now and I am extremely impressed with the traffic the site gets from that one link. Of all my websites, my directory is the one with the most traffic and the one that is used the most. I can't ask for more than that. I also have a paid link on Dan's site, pointing to one of my other sites, and I receive a fair amount of traffic from that too. Lastly, if there are issues about a breakdown in communication or other similar issue then these should be discussed and dealt with in private.
As I said above, I replied on no less than 3 occassions. If you can't get the emails what exactly am I supposed to do? Instead of pointing the finger at me, check your facts. I've given you the rates, I've given you the traffic stats, I don't provide case studies as they are not required to arrive at your decision. I haven't heard from you again so I assumed you changed your mind, as people do. I agree with Watchdog when he refers to taking it private. If you want to list on my site, then I'm happy to discuss it there.
Interesting, Thanks for letting me know Tim. It's because the trailing slash isn't added, without that it throws a 404 and redirects to the domain... The feed is correct, otherwise it wouldn't pick that up, however the linking is wrong. I'll have to play around with a 301 later. This day is just getting longer and longer lol
Sounds like an email issue. I'm always surprised by how many people ask for password reminders on my forums, and the email bounces as undeliverable. It could be something as simple as a typo or a full inbox, or an over-aggressive spam filter.
Yeah it probably is that Obelia. I had responded 3 times to Nate, and as I said in my post if he couldnt receive the email how was I supposed to contact him... I had no other alternatives. Had I known he was a DP member I may have been able to track him down, but even that would've been difficult as the user name he has here is nothing like the real name supplied in his email. I also get a lot of bounced email on the forum, followed by people emailing me on the contact form. It happens so often that I even created a sticky thread a while back asking people to check their junk mail filter, and the email address they have used before asking me to resend. The majority of problems with email are fixed that way I find
Tim this should be working now, with or without the "/". It was a problem associated with the way the webhost handles subdomains. They have what are called "dynamic subdomains" which means that any sub-folder on the domain, automatically converts to a sub-domain on the fly. This is an entry they have made in the .htaccess file via mod_rewrite for websites hosted on their unix servers. They've created additional lines to force the "blog" and "forum" links to append the "/" so this problem is now resolved. Thanks for pointing it out, it was costing me a lot of traffic.
I have a couple of my directories listed at Info Vilesilencer with no problem. maybe he need to change his email provider.
