The best tip I can give you is, Not to use your url in forums like this one. For instance if someone looks for the URL of your site on Google, I am sure this post will appear before your main site.

Here is the best thing you can do for a blogspot blog. Put it on ist own DOMAIN! This way you can optimize the Titles, Meta, Alt, Head tags....everything!

When it comes to submitting your blog, do you have to ping it once, or do you have to submit it every time you write an article?

Before thinking about the search engines, you should think about the people who:

    1. are going to see your blog.
    2. need useful information about online shopping which is what your blog is all about.

Keep in mind of all things that will help those people to remember, bookmark and subscribe to your blog. You already have lots of good content which is great! But, a person visiting you usually have a short attention span and you should do whatever it takes to change that by the time that he or she arrives on your blog.

Take care of the basic elements first such as:

    1. The blog title/logo that should be displayed at the top of the page. Also incorporate some nice colors and embed a couple of videos. In fact you could make your own video! Apply some layout that will emphasize the boundaries between the post body and the photos etc.

    2. The means for people to easily subscribe to and/or share your blog. Go to FeedBurner and get their FeedFlare to be displayed at the bottom of each post old and new. Get some Chicklets from there too and add them where your readers can see them. Check out other blogs out there to get ideas. One of the things to look out for in case you don't notice it: shadows!

    3. Let your readers know if you are in any of the social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook etc. by including appropriate buttons for your users to follow. Just do a specific search for any other button you'd like and you'll find them. If you're not utilizing social media yet, you must start now. Join as many as you can and also add a ShareThis button which will allow your visitors to quickly share your posts with their friends. Also turn the "Show Email Post links?" to "Yes" (Login to Blogger: Dashboard>Settings>Basic).

Do those things and then I tell you, when you look at your blog again you are going to want to invest a little to buy a domain name for it!

    I hope this helps...:)

If you really want to be internet marketer with your blog try get one commercial blog ( paid domain + hosting ) with this you have powerfull to customize your blog and optimize it.. I don't say blogspot not good, but there are some limited features like cutting content.. It doesn't allow us to show some text only in the index page.. we must view full article in the index page.. I don't want to read too long and don't want scrolling down.. index page is only for resume of the articles not for details..

As people here said try to get a domain for yourself. The problem with blogs are you update it, it will shine in SERP and if you let it unattended to, then it will die off before you even noticed. Read this tip by one of the most famous bloggers
Since you are a blogger here are some resources

    1. Problogger.net
    2. Seo book by aron wall
    3. Dailyblogtips by daniel scocco

I suggest you buy yourself darren's 31 days to building a better blog.

As far as SEO tips are concerned seobook should be enough if you can pay the 100$ monthly fee. If not then here are some free alternatives

    1. Search Engine Land
    2. Search Engine Roundtable
    3. Matt Cutts
