    hi friends,

my first site is in first page of google search list. But i don't have any traffic ( few people only) what's the wrong? anyone can give me some advise? i wrote articles in forums, some sites (ebay...) but it doesnt change anything.
What should i do more to get normal traffic?

    thanks.

note: it is in first page with same subject ( not special word or keyword)

Maybe there simply sin't a lot of traffic for your keyword. Personally, I don't believe the search volumes given by Google's External keyword tool. I always find the reality is far fewer visits than might be expected.

Also, unless you are in the top 3 or 4 results, click thrus drop off pretty rapidly.

Been on the first page means nothing if it is a term no one else searches for :(

Without knowing what search term you are on the front page for, and the url of your page, members here can only guess.

First page dose not necessarily mean traffic. If the keyword is a popular one then you can get some traffic. But there again, you need to be among the 1st 4 pages that appear in SERPs.

What you are ranking for is not what people are searching. How many people will be typing your domain name in Google as a search query? I think you have to do some keyword research.

I think you are ranking first for your own domain name and there is nothing special about it! It is just a sign that your site is indexed. :(

You got to rank well in serps for a very competitive keyword to get lots of traffic from the SE.

As stated above, it depends what search term you are on first page for. For example, if you are on first page for "cheap holidays" you will get far more traffic than if you were there for say "Sunshine holiday in the North Pole". You need to establish what people are searching for, then target the appropriate keywords.

Is your listing appropriate? If you appear on page one for "cheap holidays" and your Google listing reads "Luxury holidays, if money is no object visit us for deluxe holiday packages" you ain't gonna get any traffic!

If you give us your keyword and url, we can have a look for you, without these we can only suggest the typical reasons.

Of course i can give. It is french ( i added in english too but all photos in english)
    site: www.porteoutilmachine.com
keyword: porte outil tour (tool holder turning)
this keyword is not so special. in this sector, we use often. So it is amazing, when u don't have more than 5-10 visiter per day :)
Ok site is not amazing either, but come on, there are thousands people looking for similar subjects.
Maybe i should add more articles about this subject?
Thanks all guys, you are all super in these subjects. I love this forum.

Maybe the keyword where you ranked has a low search traffic. or maybe there is a problem with your site title and description. It is not appealing to the researcher.

    See thats the thing

If your keyword is like BoBoBlaBlaBla, sure you will be at the top of google.....

...but how many people know to search for that?

Being at the TOP is not the key, its having the right key word there.

It can happen. Many site listed at the first on SERP is PR0.
And, if you are searching with some non-popular long tail keyword, then dont surprise if you dont get traffic because no one searching with that keyword

mexfi571 it's normal to get excited to rank 1, then frustrated to find out it's not a popular term. You have a chance to correct this though. The term you are targeting has 3 words in it. You should target 2 of those words since you are winning the combination of 3. Then if possible target just one word within the grouping of 3 once you obtain ranking for the 2 terms. The anchor text you built up will help for all combinations of those words so your efforts won't be wasted.

First of PR and SERPs are 2 diffrent thinks (i personaly think pr is a waste of time and concentrate on SERPS)
Secondly if the search term you rank is no populr why do you expect you should do keywod research before targetting a keyword //
