My blog started on May 2009 and yesterday i got Page rank 1. But i want to know that if my blog is set to dofollow does it affect for SEO and page rank directly and will it make a huge drop in page rank and SEO?

It will make for a huge increase in spammers ;-) but will not affect SEO or Pagerank as long as you don't have a zillion outgoing links, just moderate your comments! SY

That's a bit of a problem, some says that nofollows allow to stop some link juice to go away, but Google has changed its way of treating nofollow recently and the linkjuice is going away the same way if it is dofollow or nofollow. The only thing is that the link nofollow from site A to site B does not count for the site B! The nofollow towards site B says : "I do not trust the site B!

I think you should set your posts comments to the nofollow

bcz dofollow effects the PR directly !

If you allow your blog to accept dofollow comments, make sure to put Moderation features to it to prevent spammers from attacking your blog. That way, you'll prevent making your blog a link farm and gain good reputation.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you leave your blog comments as NOFOLLOW links. There are VERY good reasons to have your blog NOFOLLOWed.

    1) Blogs that NOFOLLOW comments are typically less attractive to spammers since they know the backlinks from commenting there are worthless for Google rankings.
    2) Blogs that allow FOLLOWed comments had better be moderated because if you allow a spammer to comment on your site and plant a link back to a "bad neighborhood" site that is violating Google's Webmaster Guidelines, your site can be penalized for promoting a "bad" site.

As far as PR is concerned, in light of Matt Cutts' recent disclosure that PR sculpting no longer works (and hasn't for about a year) using rel="nofollow", having extra FOLLOWed links on your page will NOT affect the PR of your site. Pay special attention to the paragraph just before the first question and answer where he says:

Previously, when you NOFOLLOWed an outbound link on a page, the PR that would have gone out on that NOFOLLOWed link is divided up and added to the PR going out on the remaining FOLLOWed links. However, that is no longer the case. Now the PR that would have gone out on the NOFOLLOWed link is simply discarded/wasted. It does not increase the amount of PR that goes out on the remaining FOLLOWed links.
