Well, as for prediction goes, most of you predicted on the next PR update Bing would somehow be a PR5 or a PR7..

    It's now a PR9 - not even close. :p

Why not? Say them that any backlink is better than no backlinks and I'm sure they will accept :D

Seeing as live.com (pretty sure it was PR9) now forwards to bing.com; this really isn't a surprise.

An this benefits Bing in what way? I mean, I guess if people search Google for "Bing" or "Bing.com" they'll rank well. But they probably would have done this even if they were PR0 because it matches their domain name exactly. It's not like Bing.com is going to rank for anything useful at Google. When I search for "search engines" they do show up around position 20 or 21 which is actually pretty sad for a site who wants to be the next #1 search engine.

Seems like a worthless accomplishment in all honesty... Unless of course, Bing.com wants to sell links.

Yeah well, I predicted it to reached 7-10, I suppose I am right.. but yeah, bing.com imo is doing really great, someday it'll be widely used like google is today. :)

Bings PR as a previous poster said is likely 99% because www.live.com has been 301 redirected to www.bing.com. Yes they picked up a lot of inbound links since the launch, but if live.com had not been redirected to bing.com their PR would likely have been different.

But gratz to them for putting a new skin on basically an old engine. I knew it was coming 6 months ago from our quarterly business review w/ Microsoft. They have made some improvements over Live, but I don't see them ever coming close to Google. They have done absolutely nothing revolutionary with Bing. I'd be willing to bet that this time next year once the newness wears off and people realize their results really aren't all they're cracked up to be that they will still have roughly the same marketshare in search that they had prior to the bing.com announcement. If they take marketshare from anyone it will likely be Ask ROFL... But that ain't saying much.

    Time will tell...

    Very well said....mate!

PR craze is only among the masses, with more established commercial sites hardly paying any attention to its existence. Only people wiling to sell links or sites have their total focus on it and not the ones who are existing for pure commercial reasons.

    Bing-o!

Oh well, that's not surprising at all. All inbound links from Live are redirected to Bing.

exactly. If bing doesnot redirected from live there would be another condition. PR is actually a game of inbound of links that Bing get from live.com. its true Bing is not seems to appearing as search engine competitors. it has some problem in searching. for example when i search any side for . ca i got 1st some listing for .ca other all results comes from .com. how it could be leading engine like Google?
