Why I am getting penalties?

    Hi webmasters,

    Whenever I add some data to my websites I get google penalty and traffic reduces to 1/3rd and it continues for 2-3 months if I dont add any data. But if I keep on adding data to my website then penalty continues for long till I stop posting. So, do any one here has any idea why this happens. What should I do. I wrote this to google as well but got no answer. Please dont comment about why I dont get any reply from google. Just stick to the point of avoiding penalties.

    I guess its a duplicate content issue because all your new content is not really new.

    IMHO, you do not have any real content, the pages are too simple, please try write something for each of your post, at least new post.

    My website is based on music. I think I cant change the song titles but I will try to add some data to it soon. Hope this will help me. I am doing no link building right now coz I dont know where to go for that.

    You must be having duplicate content there.. Try to check it.. You have to update your content as often as you can.. If possible it should be regularly..

    I have seen your site. Everything looks great except lyrics. songs,poems,words cannot be editable. Not only you, many websites(lyrics sites) faces duplicate content issue.
    Well, keep unique titles and write quality 4-5lines of unique content about your videos.(for seo purpose)
    Next add some snippet or widget in every post to keep lyrics,poems and all non editable things. And disallow this widget in robots.txt file.
    Now google will not crawl your lyrics and your website will be safer :)

    When it comes to the niches like lyrics, webmasters need to get really creative to avoid the possible ranking drops. The reason is very clear, Google will find your pages contents which are exactly like the copied materials on hundreds of other lyrics sites.

    Do SEO technique.
    Submit your site to Social Bookmarking Sites.
    Blog Commenting and provide your Site address.
    participate in Yahoo Answers and post relevant questions and answers that
    is related to your site.
    and many more.
