co.uk will priortize the regional UK website as it is meant for geographical search as primary so TLD's with co.uk will show up higher its obvious

    Its geo targetting ...............

If you added backlinks from uk websites they would have a positive impact on your search engine positions.

Could you give a reference about this? I was not aware and I would like to get information.

For the rest, Google tries to provide better results depending of the physical location of the searcher. I am wondering if this really works well. I know it works well for the Google locale. I found many stores with it in my area. For the other searches, I heard it depends on the server location hosting the website. Very often, websites are not hosted where the targeted market is. Does anyone have more information about the server locations issue?

Yes, and remember also that Google positioning can sometime be volatile. You're on page 2 one day in one region (while you're on 3 in another region) and several days later it may be vise-versa. Plus there is always the regional targeting aspect of advertisers, so your results may differ from that as well.

Most websites appear different in searches on google.co.uk and google.com, it depends if you are targeting a certain countr, for example if your uk based then you want to be higher on google.co.uk rather than the .com

Basic they are serving tow different countries
    Two places have different presidents
and they have different news topics and idols.
They could target different DCs too.

The bottom line is who are you targetting? If you want to engage a worldwide audience google.com is probably more important however if you simply want to engage with the UK public then google.co.uk is the one to chase. Having said that it's easier said than done as you will need to be finding links within your geographic region to get the best results.

I agree it depends on your audience that you have in mind, Th US audience is catered for on Google.com so I believe thats the one you should work on more.
