setup a cms for your services & static information.
setup a blog to update your clients daily/weekly on services , product etc..and intergrate the two ( theme , logo etc..)

The point is that a blog has a very convenient structure for users.

Is there a real difference? Because technically, Wordpress is a Blogging Content Management System Platform. Some people (such as myself) use wordpress for a website, and not really a blog.

So my suggestion is to pick something that fits your needs. Regardless if its a blogging platform, or a full blown CMS like drupal - pick one that does what you need it to.
