Organic SEO or Adwords?

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by Trioman, Jun 19, 2009.

I just started an adwords campaign and I built a new site which I optimize for two keywords. I also built an ad group around the same two keywords.

I checked recently and I am already ranked on the front page for 20 variations of those keywords and traffic is starting to come.

Should I cancel the ad group? Am I shooting myself in the foot by having ad group for keywords that I rank for organically?...Or is will the ad group generate me additional clicks?

I have never had this problem before...Your input is appreciate...

Google usually ranks you in top pages when you start but after few days it will drop and next you can only come to top rank after solid seo.

While adwords give you constant traffic without seo.

Congrats for getting ranked so quickly. I would let your adwords campaign run for a bit and track if you are getting any conversions, if not then stop it.

Can you share the steps how you got ranked?

sounds like too many too fast for a new website; be careful of getting banned for that

I took a look at that site you have in your sig; doesn't work correctly. I can't sign up for an email; that's seriously flawed. Sounds like a good system though; makes sense ; article submission; I guess you are just using some program or tool to rearrange the articles and submit to many sites.
    that's cool :)

isn't commenting on blogs and leaving your link a short cut too since it's not the natural way links are build; they should be built by people other than yourself correct?

Article marketing is not a shortcut method...first of all it should take you about an hour to write each article...and secondly, sometimes it can take the search engines up to six months to record your backlinks.....And if you are using a reputable article submission service, you have the option of spreading your articles over a period of time.

If these are profitable keywords (which you should be tracking) then you'll want to be getting traffic for them in as many ways as possible. That includes organic rankings for your own site, paid traffic, and organic rankings for various web 2.0 sites.

it all dpends if your adwords are profitable or not - if they are then great, just keep them running. There are a few studies out there that show that if you have organic and paid listings on the first page then your conversion / CTR rates will be higher than you would expect if you took the two separately and added them together - i.e. higher than the sum of their parts...

Organic SEO is cost effective method. Once upon a time we optimized on website for one Canadian sostware development company. It continues to receive a lot of traffic today. Adwords will work untill you pay money.

Using Adwords is a great way to get your site on the first page in no time...IF you have the budget, and the time to properly manage it. If you are testing your different keywords and ad groups, which you should be, this will take time. But, by doing this, you can weed out the poor performers, and eliminate them, while boosting those keywords that convert for you.

In time, your cost per click will go down, as you increase your quality score by improving your ads and their relevance to your site.

SEO services are more expensive while Adwords are usually ordered for new websites.
