Is it harmfull to post more than once a day in your blog?

I was reading an article in another fourm and I saw someone stating that posting more than once in your blog was actaully harmfull to your search engine ranking and was also very confusing to your visitors.
What do you think about this?

 

Nothing could be further from the truth. The more unique content you create in a day, the better.

I have to agree, tho I usually do not start a new post on the same day I tend to add to the one I had already started unless it's something major that needs it's own post...

One thing that you should not do is if you use *Pinging Services* like Pingoat & Ping-o-Matic... Ping them once or maybe a couple of times a week when you have created a new Entry/Post to your Blog... The more you ping the more they get pissed... hehe

 

Where did you get that idea from? You should always ping these services every time you post a new entry. That's the only way people using news readers will know there is new content. Imagine if a blog like BoingBoing only pinged once a week? It would be pretty annoying to have to read a couple of hundred entries at once.

 

common practice is to post 2-3 times a day. any more and you might provide your reader with too much info. from SE point of view its should not matter. more then better

 

I just completed my 2nd posts of today on both of my blogs, first posts were done this morning and 2nd posts this evening, not huge posts, so they wont overwhelm the readers and their clearly titled so as not to confuse with the other, more is good if the quality is there, i would say 2-3 a day is fine spacing them throughout the day if your able to manage it.

 

I cannot stress enough that it's hard to blog too much. According to Technorati, the most popular English language blog is Engadget. I just checked and they are on their 15th posting today. BoingBoing is the second most popular blog and they are up to 19 postings today. As long as you can post quality entries, go for it.

 

I guess you got the idea LOL , no limit. But anyways after posting a couple of blogs per day you'll end up having nothing to say... Just kidding .

 

Ultimately, it depends on your blog subject matter. I normally post once per day. That only changes if it's something major and/or time sensitive that needs to go up asap.

 

I only read blogs if they look active. I consider active to be posting more than once a day.

you want to have atleast 1 post per day

I do not think or feel that adding more than one post a day to your blog would hurt you, but for it to be manageable for most of your readers do not rush to much, take one post at a time and make it a couple of hours between posts.

Maybe it mught burn you out and make your readers expect to much...
but if you can handle it andhave nothing to do, why not?

 

I post every day to my blogs. Sometimes twice, especially if I am paid to write articles and post them. By the way. My fees are cheap at $3.99 per article. I have a thread with the details.

Thank you, It seems this thread I read about being harmfull to post more than once was pretty silly. Thank you all for your advice . I really like to post at least teice but it may be because the blog is new so I still have a lot to say, maybe I will become bored of it in the future but, for now, I am enjoying this too much.
