Does forum works in link building?

I wonder how forums works in link building, I see guys going after forums to build links by including signatures and day and nite looking for some new dofollow links, okay so when we pass comments or post threads it creates a unique page that page doesn’t has any Pagerank values, so how its counted in link building? it just create a healthy backlinks, yes we can say it also helps in keywords in the SERPS, so mine question is does it works in link building to get some PR reputation? Well I am new and still learning, so I am eager to know much in details about how it works in forums.

Having said that, signature links in forums do matter even if they are a nofollow. I have often seen hits coming from sites which indexed / cached forum pages and they didn't have a nofollow - so you see, you don't know how you could get a link from entirely different place. Does that make sense ?

 

Yes forums can give you visits on your site, for the link juice. It is very little but little is always something.

 

Well it works because DP thread gets immediately scanned by google after 30mins of thread opened

See google spiders scan website based on merit and weightage in case of DP they scan immediately because it has good PR , Traffic etc etc

Yes, but some forums are better then others. Then check your google webmaster tools on a regular basis. Your looking to see which forums show up first in the links section.

Some forums you can make 100 post, and google will register all 100 post. Some forums you can make 100 post and google will only find 5 out of that 100. So you want to focus on sites that give you the most backlinks and the fastest.

Some forums I have posted on, 2 - 3 years later and google has not fround the links I posted. On one forum, I have over 500 post with a signature link, and google has not find a single one of those links.

So you need to keep an eye on your google webmaster tools and your yahoo site explorer tools and see which forums are giving you the best return.

 

Forum backlinks sure help to rank a little bit better. Every DoFollow backlink counts and help to rank higher.
However you need a diversified link profile: get links from forums, blogs, directories, article directories, etc.
If you're trying to rank for highly competitive keywords then you will need quality backlinks from authority sites as well.

 

It works here, but they might be not the best links. You can attract targeted visitors with signatures depending on the threads you post. It is easy to post often and have many links, but the quality is rather low. I believe it counts.

Every site that I have backlinked from forums have worked. It takes a little time - about a week or two. And I'm talking about forums that aren't relevent to the site your linking too.

Dofollow forum links certainly help but it's a very labour intensive way of building links. You need to post often as the links lose value quite rapidly as your posts get buried by newer posts and threads.
