When you do a whois on a domain, there are three dates:

    Created: 2007-04-21
    Expires: 2010-04-21
    Updated: 2009-06-02

What does the updated date mean?

Does it domain was dropped or what?
Or does it mean that domain was transferred..

Is there any impact of this updated date on the continuity and hence SEO effect on the domain age ?

    Please give intelligent answer..

When it was last transferred, also, it's easily to build backlinks for older domains because Google is a lot less trigger-happy.

I think updated date means-the date of update by whois search.

go to whois.domaintools.com enter a domain name and on the resulting page, click next to whois history
but they'll ask to upgrade membership
