What exactly is "Social Media Optimization"?????? Do you mean just getting backlinks from the social media sites or something????

 

i am not sure what it is, but a lot of people say making profiles helps.

Yes, profiles help. A lot. And here is an explanation of what profiles are and how they help.

There are literally thousands of sites now being web2.0 sites, which usually means it is a membership site where you create a profile, user name, and share what is important to you, including photos, videos, articles, posts, lists, etc. The important part of the profile is the section that allows you to enter the url of one website. Here at DP that section is called 'Home Page URL.' Have you entered the URL of a site you want to promote in your profile? If not, then you are missing out on a dofollow backlink of high PR to your site.

I actually disagree with SunstarShop on this point. Why wait? You can start getting backlinks for any domain, and add the quality content when it is ready to add.

For example, I bought a domain last year and the plan for the domain is to sell a hand-written downloadable book at the domain. I have very little content, just a brief description of what the book is about, and a note that the book is still being written. That message has been there for a year. The unfinished site giving a summary of the unfinished book is now on page one of a Google search for one of the longtails I have been anchoring through gradual linkbuilding.

I just keep getting anchored links to that domain. The content is definitely NOT quality content. When the downloadable book is finished it is going to BURST upon the scene within the niche, as the domain is becoming an authority site due to the age and number of backlinks, and all this before the book is finished and before the website is finished.

Of course, high-volume bookmarking with Bookmarking Demon is on my list of link building tasks.

All of these options fail to compare to youtube.

But, a lot of it depends on the quality of the video production, the topic and how well its presented. Some producers on youtube have over 100,000 subscribers and their videos get 100,000 views per day. That can provide your site with a MASSIVE amount of traffic.

If you do not want to make the video, then get someone that is already established in the youtube community to make a video for you and post it on their channel. This could result in instant traffic with the trouble of having to make your own videos.

 

what about wordpress cloaking,I think this is also one of the best strategy to increase targeted traffic to your site with no need to add "more link to get out"
