Was hoping someone might have some insight into this. Directories for the most part prefer the root domain (abc.com) over (abc.com/xyz), but how do they feel about subdomains being submitted? hope someone has some input on this :)

It is the same with subdomains as well. I find A lot of directories will not accept them , so when you find one, just submit your subdomains to those

I usually dont accept subdomains. BUT I do accept them if they are unique, good quality sites. And I also accept blogs, generally blogspots, typepad, wordpress and others.

Usually the directory owners accept quality subdomains but not the inside pages. The problem is, there are some spammers who make 20/30 subdomains with same content or affiliate-rich contents, now if we start accepting those then the directory will be a mess with loads of such crap sites. That's why they try to avoid subdomains. But again I am telling you if you have a quality subdomain site, submit to the directories, many of them will accept your site.

    Good luck.

thanks for the replies. iceberg that was what i was hoping to hear, as each subdomain is a quality stand alone site so it'd be a pity if they couldnt be submitted to directories. thanks again.

If I'm reading you right here you say its good to have quality sub domains but, with different content on all is this correct?
