Hi, i'm completely new to adsense, I have run websites, but from what I understand blogs appear the best place for adsense to work. How does it all happen, do you choose keywords and people ads appear on your site? What can a good blog make in terms of money?
You can't just "choose keywords", you need to choose a niché. If you don't know what a niché is, its simply the subject your site will be about. Don't be fooled! Blogs don't get the only conversions. You can get conversions from many sites, blogs are just easier for those of us webmasters who want to do any real programming work. A certain blog I will not mention makes about $40k/month. Please note though, once your reach that level of earning from a blog it seems you turn into a pompous asian or bald headed man. I would not advise this route.
So do the ads that appear, automatically get placed based on the website niche? Sorry, I can do SEO, website marketing etc but have just never been exposed to Adsense
Yes the adsense ads will check your content and base the ads on that. You cannot choose certain ads to be shown, that is why you need to have plenty of content with keywords inside. Some keywords are better than others though.
The ads appear automatically, the code will be provided by Google AdSense. The ads will keep changing as per the content in your website. Some KWs have higher CPC.
if you make a niche blog it is definitely possible to make more than 1k a month.Or you can start many microniche sites.Microniche are much easier to rank.So you will avoid frustration in waiting so long for ranking your niche blog.You earnings are dependent entirely on the NICHE !!!
The best is the low competition niches with a lot of traffic. High paying niches is very competitive but if you know how to SEO and get traffic to your site then you can make a good go... Thanks JulieV

if you are starting new, then i would suggest you to start with a niche that has low competition. most people start fresh with high traffic niche but dont realize that high traffic terms have high competition. they try for a while and then give up so easily. so start with something low ball, get some traffic going and then when you get a feel for it, pick something better
I work witting marketing and more recently online marketing, these are the areas I understand the most, but as a niche are quite broad and highly competitive. How do you go about choosing a niche that you know enough about, but is less competitive?
To think on long term earning, i will suggest you choose the niche you know more although it is less competitive. Online marketing is good niche

You need rather high traffic to make some considerable amount of money. You will probably not make millions with adsense, but it might wery well cover all costs of running a website.
Yeah Blog's are good for adsense mate... If you have a popular blog then you can get more revenue from Adesnse since it will display ads relevant to your site content
