Some of you may have seen my link building posts on the forum so will be aware i have a good few years experience working online so this journal hopefully will cover some more advanced topics. Ive dabbled with clickbank before and over the next few weeks i will be selling some of my own products. But i also want to see if i can make some sales. I will be creating a basic landing page for 1 product, once ive made my first sale il add another. Mostly be using SEO to rank my site for the target keywords. Il be using some article and blog submission and a few other link building methods. Il post at least 1 daily update. Day1 Product chosen Domain purchased Awaiting landing page and articles, also writing some myself.
Sounds like fun! I might join you if I have time. Whats the URL so i can follow along? what product did u go for?
i wont be giving away url and product just yet Once ive made my first sale and i build a new site il reveal the site and product. Ok so i dont often use article sites when link building but for this i feel it would be worth while, i wont be using them to directly bring in traffic, more for the links into my main site, i will probably have 3 landing pages on my domain targeting 3 different keyphrases. Il use ezine as it a pretty trusted domain still in google. Any other article recommendations, need the links to be do follow
I see keeping us waiting! Well article directories are ok but dont expect to rank well with only them. Google also doesnt pick up links froma lot of them these days. I would go for do follow blog commenting and perhaps a link exchange or two if you can get any. Are you planning to only use articles for link building?
Waste of time, keyword sniping would be your best bet, its shockingly effective I never even need to build links doing this, just some quick and dirty social bookmarking.
I believe he means creating an entire site designed to rank for 1 specific keyword (usually mid-tail). Often the domain name, on page SEO, and intra-site linking is enough to rank highly
well in terms of link building i know what im doing, il be writing some linkbait content to put on site, should bring in some nice links. Il be using article sites for volume of links Maybe a few blog comments, few link swaps, guest posts. On page there will be plenty of keyword rich content so i can pick up a few midtail terms Might tag a long a blog to update and keep googlebot interested.
Yes, that is what I meant, also note that there's much more to it than that, and although I build a site for just 1 keyword on average 70% of my traffic comes from odd variations of the keyword I optimized for... Which is a real bonus that comes with making good use of your LSI keywords.
I find this as well. Eventaully you get traffic from keywrods you never even optimized for. So what do you guys/gals find are the best link building methods for landing pages then?
Yes you clearly no what your doing I don't doubt that, also when you say link swaps do you mean I link to you and you link to me? If so then you would be wasting time there as Google cancels out those links. For example if site A links to site B and B links back its discounted.
not strictly true, Matt Cutts has said many times and in my experience link swaps are fine to do as long as there relevant, add value and not designed to manipulate PR. We use it with clients and have done some anchor text testing with it, had some very good results, its become a very underused method. Some 3 way linking as well.
Jenny This look pretty interesting. What is the time frame for you releasing your product to clickbank. Can you give us any hints as to what genre it will be about. I look forward to hearing about the journey.
Hopefully be next week Awaiting a final proofread and some beta testing to there products target audience for feedback. Back to the journal I now have 16 articles ready to go. Il update again when there posted
Never done it myself, I'm to lazy to do link building that's a job to be outsourced, and I'll take your word on it as you've tested it.
I agree they still do work quite well even though I only use 3 way link exchanges these day which are more effective.
