    Thanks,

never leave your job for adsense, then again never use only adsense to get income from the net.

    I actually do.

You see, my first check, was of 118 dollars in about 3 months.

My second check was of 113 dollars in 2 months.

That´s when I found myself in a situation where I would work for myself in a partnership making websites in ASP, PHP, developing etc as the owner of a company called ProsperaWeb.

Working like that, 12 hours a day I got about 400 dollars a month.

(I live in Brasil, here the minimun wage is about 200 dollars and the medium wage is $ 1200. Since the clients sometimes simply don´t pay, or sometimes doesn´t pay if you dont do A LOT more work than you first agreed too, I worked like a slave and saw no money come out of that)

Hard times, sometimes for 2 or 3 weeks I had no work. So with the free time I invested in my website.

    Got $300,00 from google.

Saw this could work and Got 3 more websites up and running. 440 dollars.

    3 More websites. 500 dollars.

Quit the ASP making. It´s just no worth it. Also got throught law school and now I´m a Lawyer.

With the google money I pay the office bills and as I wait for clients to come i work on the websites.

Now I´m on the other side of the math. Since the wages are so low, I made the following math:

Website with 10 articles (ex: www.hq.pro.br started with 10 articles.) With about 50 visitors a day got me 17 cents a day. In 30 days I got 5.1 dollars
    in 12 months I Got 61 dollars.

If I spend 15 dolars os the domains registration and pay 2.5 dollar for each article I will spend in total 15 + 25 = 40 dollars. I earned in total 21.5 dollars.

But I´m not putting in the math the natural increase of traffic that will come wen google index it and when it earns pagerank from the other website and wen it leaves the sandbox.

One of my websites just got out of the sandbox (6 months old) and is gettinh 300 unique visitors a day and generating a revenue of 5 dollar a day. (very well paid keywords)

And since all sites are in portuguese, the niche areas that hasn´t been explored are many.

So I didn´t quit my job completely. But Google is my major income.

I was under the impression if someone did not pay in Brazil, you were allowed to stab them. That sucks.

Its surprising that quite a lot of people earning a very decent living off adsense and earn nore than their job. While that is not always surprising for many people living in pooreer countries due to lower salaries, it is quite surpising that many people in the USA and UK earn more then their jobs.

True, but it is all realative. Some people may earn more, but pay much mor for goods and services. So someone making 10k/yr that has expenses of $5k/yr vs someone making $100/yr with expenses of $95k/yr may often times be better off :)

    It's all relative!
