Okay, so for the last 2-3 days now... every one of my clicks earn about 1 or 2 cents. This morning, it's only been 42 page impressions, 2 clicks. Total earnings, 0.03 cents. Is this... right? Why so low?
Cover ears!!! Not meant to talk about impressions, clicks, ctr etc dude! Your only getting a few cents because the keywords are unpopular & thus the people using Adwords and paying for those keywords are picking them up dirt cheap. By dirt cheap it'd be roughly 6 cents in adwords, give or take. Google pockets some & the rest is yours. Try to target keywords which are worth more. This tool may be helpful in choosing those keywords: https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox
This could be because you have been smartpriced or just a blip that seems to happen with a lot of accounts before things return to normal. It also depends on your normal CPC.
How many sites do you own, qwestcommunications may be right, if you have many sites with high CTR you are smartpriced..
The keywords being "proxy" "arcade" I thought were good? This is werid. I only have like 4 websites running adsense. Only the one I'm refering too really picks up clicks/traffic atm.
can you explain a little about this smartpricing and how to avoid this ? some of my sites do have high ctr and one of my prime site is suffering alot. yesterday I have got 27 clicks(approximately ) and 54 cents(again approx) which is horrible since this is the site which get most clicks. It's happening for a very long time and how can I avoid this ? Thanks
Same here... I guess that cause by smartpricing just wondering if the advertiser pay the same with or with out smartpricing if so google really make lot of money.
Did you check to see if the adds clicked were 'site' rather than contextual ads? If so, you are getting the 3 cents for impressions, not for the clicks even though the clicks on those site ads show up in the report.
Wow, after another click, my total earnings are now in the 50 cent range. Possible bug? I don't know.
Shouldn't the fact that you only have 42 impressions be more of a worry than how much you're making per click?
I only HAD 42 at that time (the counter only reset a little earlier to this post...) I get about 3,000~ page impressions a day. Wether that meets your standards or not, that is what the website gets.
It's not a question of my standards, it's a question of you focusing on the wrong thing. Your main concern should be to improve traffic to convert with, not obsessing over 1-2 cent clicks. But whatever. No skin off my nose. /shrug
Possibly, but sometimes a site could be attracting low paying ads because of bad targetting, content, lots of clicks on the 3rd/lowest paying ad block, etc etc - any number of reasons why the clicks might not be higher paying. In that case, while traffic is always great, if he can redo a section of the site to pull 10-20 cent clicks instead of 1-2 cent clicks, it seems that that might be a more worthwhile focus than just trying to get more visitors and pull down another hundred 1-cent clicks to a poorly implemented/targetted ad block.
Right jackburton2006 - and I do focus on traffic. Though, this was just something I noticed and thought was strange. Am I not allowed to work on getting traffic, and ask about revenue too? Quite frankly, you're not aware of the traffic my website gets. I'm getting well over 700 uniques a day, and at the moment - this is fine with me, and I would like to work on building up some revenue with it. Thanks for the great comments / advice Telmari.
Well, you are not the only one to get useless advice, CWN. People here might give expert advice without even reading the post Smart pricing is one reason. The geographic location of your audience is also important. I have notied that some asian traffic converts rather poorly. That could explain the low rates in the morning. There is nothing much you could do about smart pricing. Just keeping an eye on better paying keywords/niche could help
