This is from the NY Post today: "But co-founder Sergey Brin is so rattled by the launch of Microsoft's rival search engine that he has assembled a team of top engineers to work on urgent upgrades to his Web service, The Post has learned." Not saying Bing is a Google killer, but Google seems a little worried. What say you???
It is always good to see the leader being hurried up with his plans on upgrades, as it simply means we, as customers will get to enjoy lot many cooler and helpful features....very soon! No wonder, it always helps to have two good competitors fighting it out, rather than a single dominant monopolistic leader! Regards, RightMan
Dont forget that papers exagerate almost everything x10, stories are literally thought up without any truth. Aint nothing gonna out do google, ever. I say dont believe the hype.
I don't think Bing will get anywhere, but its good that Google are going to be improving their Search Engine.
Google were like 100 miles away from all the other SE's ! And now it's like Bing is almost upto about 30 miles. So G is like speeding up lil faster..
In short term I don't see anything happening to google. Even despite recent boom about Bing I think people just go there to check out. Even though I rank higher in bing i still get about 20 times more clicks from google.
A healthy competition is good for consumers. We need more then one competition search engines for sure; be it Bing or whatever.
I don't believe that article for a minute. Anyone with half a brain (who knows this business) will see that Bing SERPS are poor, it's exactly like Live was as far as results. But,.....I hope Bing does take off because I rank better in their serps
I think Bing is excellent news for us website owners. Think about it if we can get more traffic from another search enginee and it was at the same level as Google then that can only be a good thing can't it. The only people to be scared are Google but if you are a website owners it's great news!
That's what I was going to say, in my country it's google or google, so it would be nice to have some competition. Also, that means that will be more jobs for SEO/SEM
the main question has to be ... what search engine are you STILL using? Google. Nothing will change because google is just what most people use.
I can say with upmost confidence that Bing is not going to upstage Google. It's almost impossible to catch up with Google popularity.
With or without Bing, Google is always trying to improve their search engine. That is why they took just 5 years or less to beat yahoo and the other big boys in the search engine market.
This is a good indicator for such a great company like Google. With this kind of attitude, they hardly miss the top 1 in the market. However, competition is always good for us, internet users and seo lovers.
I know google has been having limited testing with an AJAX platform, so that is probably what we will see later this year.
I would like to see Bing/Yahoo and twitter by the end of the year when Google releases Wave . At least Twitter will die as fast as it came . I think google hit it right in the head with the announcement of Wave plus it looks really practical and cool.
I hope Bing can take at least 40% percent of market, then Google won't be that bossy towards webmasters.
