I have been submitting my website to free directories over the past few days. It is almost done now so I am considering do reciprocal links. Exactly how good are reciprocal links going to help me in getting more traffic?
One thing is that most reciprocal links are usually from directories. Are those worthwhile since I will be listed in the relevant category.
I will limit the reciprocal linking to only a few top directories. Linking to 100 directories on a page may results in degrading of your page / site ranking..
I don't recommend putting reciprocal links to directories because most of them are FFA.If you're considering reciprocal links , try doing it to sites that is the same niche as yours because most of this site needed your reciprocal link before they will exchange links with you.
That's true. That's the main reason I always avoid linking to directories that requires reciprocal links. It makes it pointless since they are not of the same niche.
What I meant was if you own a directory you can safely exchange links with other directories, since this will be related linking. Other factors aside, of course. Warkot
Come to it, reciprocal links from directories don't really help my tech related website unless it is a tech directory. I will be submitting to free directories manually instead and work on my content to see where it will lead me to.

do some research, try to exchange links with other tech-related quality sites/blogs/journals, and submit to free non-reciprocal directories as many as possible. Dont forget to submit your site to dmoz. If they accept your site then your site'll be automatically accepted by google directory.
