We have now launched the much awaited Automatic Directory Submission Tool. This is a BETA version - which means it may contain more bugs!! than features!!.

This version works only in Windows environment ( Tested on XP Home Edition SP2 ).

I've just been testing it out, very cool!

One thing, it isn't possible to ALT-TAB through to your software, so it keeps getting lost - I kep needing to minimise other active windows to find it again.

Also is there any way to see the PR of the site being submitted to or of the page being submitted to - it feels a bit strange submitting to a site when you're not seeing the whole thing?

But yes, overall its good, an inspired idea, well done for thinking of it!

 

Thank you for your kind words. All comments are being gathered which will be evaluated and will be amended in our next version. Directory Data updates are in progress now to include more directories. You may download the updated data file tomorrow. We are aiming to include atleast 250 directories within this month end.

I have been looking for a good semi-automatic dir submission tool. I have some suggestions for you. The features my ideal program would have :

- Automatically rotate between an infinete amount of linktexts and descriptions
- ability to easily manage and import different directory lists + online update of your list
- Ability to customize the words you search for in the auto-fill in. This way we could use the software to submit to directories in different languages. (I run a number of dutch language sites)
- ability to track which directories have been submitted too.

I would pay a considerable amount for software that can do all this.

 

It isn't quite "automatic" now is it? You still have to go to each individual site, and click on the correct category and click submit. It is just fills in the normal fields automatically.

 

1. You can create unlimited profiles for a single website. Create each profile with different keyword titles and descriptions.

2. Online update is a work in progress.

2.1 You cannot import your own list because some directories require customised logic for Auto Fill to work properly.

3. Not sure what it means ( an explanation is required ).

4. History of Submissions/Ability to track submissions is a work in progress.

5. This is a free software ( due to the fact that I spent a considerable amount of time searching for one. I got really inspired to create one when an existing software announced an one day access fee of $10). So feel free to donate to a charity of your choice.

Work in progress would be available in the next version ( Hopefully!).

 

Exactly. Thats why I would like to refer it as (Semi) Automatic. Enabling full fledged automation isn't a big deal ( I have already tested our modified version and it works fantastic by selecting categories automatically and successfully simulates button click). However it opens the gate for spammers. If you own a web directory, you would already have "enjoyed" it. So that release is on hold as of now.

First off let me congratulate you on making this software for free. A lot of people would ask money for it. I myself contemplated making this sort of software but due to lack of time I never did.

That would be an option too but when submitting to dirs I would like to do it as fast as possible and having it automatically rotate the texts and descriptions eliminates one action you need to do.

I probably didn't explain myself all too well. What I meant was this :
The code that fills in the form obviously searches for certain words like "description", "title", "link", etc. I would make a list of synonyms for these words and make these lists editable by the users. For instance for the description field the list would be something like "description", "site description", etc

So if for instance I want to submit to a dutch language dir I'd add "beschrijving", "omschrijving", etc ... (the dutch translations)

Making it like this would make it very flexible. If for instance one directory has "description" spelled wrong you can simply add the misspelling to the list and it's fixed.

I also think that a system like this would eliminate the need for custom logic for certain directories.

Updated Directory database released. Download it ( download only the directory data from the update section) and copy on top of the old one.

Try AllSubmitter ver. 2.6. This software is simular to yours, but this one has been around for a long time, and has many more features. Plus you could import your own Directory database as a txt or xml file. And it also learns the way you submit the sites, then remembers each step you made. So in the future you could do that just using Automatic submission feature. By the way the software you just described above, is not AUTOMATIC SUBMISSION SOFTWARE, i would say it is SEMI - AUTOMATIC
