If you are already ranked well in google you will just need to give it time to rank well in yahoo. I have noticed it to that when I first started gaining postition in the serps of google I was still very low in yahoo, but after a few weeks my site began to rise within the serps. With yahoo I have noticed that they place a very high importance on anchoring keywords within hypertext both on site and off site.

Agree with kbeus21, I tried to put my blog on top of Google SERP. Suddenly Yahoo followed to rank it well. Here is my blog: http://www.againstweight.com , targeted keyword phrase: Against Weight.

most of the sites in yahoo search is paid. So you won't be getting good rankings very fast there. Thats why yahoo is not good as google.

I don't think that it is true enough, as far as I know Yahoo emphasize more on "On Page Factors" like content, navigation, etc. while Google gives more value on "Off Page Factors". Also don't worry that your site is not coming in the Yahoo search as yahoo provides very less traffic compared to Google.

Ok, I have observed that something is changing in Yahoo serps from a long time. But I have always thought that direction is in the different site - firt you rank at Yahoo and after a while your ranking in Google change. Does work different right now? And what's going on with Yahoo?

I usually find Yahoo being bit slower in indexing the sites than google..so wait for few days and you may see good ranking of you site..also they follow different ranking methods so don't be surprised if the rankings do not change!

yahoo takes time. and the rank is based on the quality of content related to the keyword...
the rank also depend on how the keywords are placed in pages and the type of links...

googles rank depend on the number of site that are linking to you so in google its a little more less complicated and easier to get in the rank list

They use different algorithms and rank site according to different things. For one I don't think yahoo has a PR system in place. Maybe it is more like alexa.

If your website rank well in Google but not in Yahoo, try following tips to get listed in Yahoo index.
1> Write down some Hubpages (like 2-5 a day ) related to your content and then put your site url with exact anchor text (for which you want rankings ); and voila, you will see some effect in Yahoo Serps within 2 weeks.
I had tested this for many of my websites and it do work.

But you need to be constant, make atleast 4-5 hubs a day for next 15 days!

    thanks,
    J

    So what's the problem? lol

Ranking well in yahoo will drive like 20 users to your site.

Ranking will in google will drive thousands of users to your site
