Looks like the little fascist is up to no good again, I'm not surprised though; Not like it's the first time.

Seriously, do our politicians have NO LIVES?! We're in a historic economic situation and they're working on MORE restrictions of our civil liberties?

Where's the ACLU, where's the civil liberty activists? Where are you?

Federal taxes on a pack of cigarettes are about a $1. There's a bigger bite taxwise from State taxes.

Obama can afford it, I've heard he made 2.5 million in book sale profits in the last year.

Cigarette taxes aren't a bad thing. They are a good way to tax freeloaders on welfare and illegal aliens.

Yeah, but they also hurt the people that already pay taxes on everything else.

Good thing my dip doesn't get affected by this, $2.15 a can :D

What a dump president, why is he working on saving lives and reducing the health dangers to us..

If you are stupid enough to smoke, you don't deserve any liberties.

    Peace,

They are to give health department total control on this smoke thing.

How about banning the whole smoke thing.

Let me ask you something, do you eat junk food? Do you ever drink alcohol? Well, I think we all eat food that is unhealthy for us some time if not every day of our lives without realizing it. So if your argument is that people don't deserve any liberties because they do something that negatively impacts their health, doesn't that mean you're one of those that are stupid and don't deserve any liberty?

Or are you going to tell me you've never done anything that was unhealthy for you?

So why do you want to be a little fascist anyhow and decide what people can and cannot do with their bodies? Are you bored? Nothing to do with your own life so you think it would be fun to stick your nose in other people's business?

Should we ban candy also? It tastes good and obviously "gives the impression" that it isn't harmful to your health. Do you want to bring back the alcohol prohibition?

And don't say peace like you're some lovable hippie, you support tyranny and force through the barrel of a gun.

I don't smoke. I think it's pointless, a drain on your wallet and health. But who the hell are you to make decisions for anyone other than yourself?

If someone wants to light a smoke, let them light their smoke.. if you think it's a bad decision on their part, go make some stupid public service announcement. But if you want to make laws enforcing your own opinions about whether people should smoke or not, then I hope your ready for health-foodists such as myself to also make laws making sure you can't eat ANYTHING that is unhealthy. All those packaged/processed foods, desserts, sodas, pretty much anything you eat now that you enjoy. I hope you can live on locally grown vegetables and natural meats like myself.

Everybody wants to be a little dictator; just sit down, shut up, and stay the hell out of other peoples' business.

Exactly Nate. I will eat and drink what I want. It just so happens I choose to mostly drink water from my tap. I refuse to drink bottled water...seriousl, $1 / liter of water? Seriously? Most of that water is tap water pretty much anyway lol. I laugh when I see people buy water. I bought a water filter thingy ma jig and fill up a 3 liter bottle I carry with me when I go places, I drink it every day. You're supposed to drink at least 2 liters, but, I run 4-7 miles per day so the other one is just to replace that lost water.

And I dip. I choose to dip. No one makes that choice but me. No one will make the choice for me to quit (if I ever do, doubtful atm.) I hate people that think that the government is the solution to everything lol. Look at what they already control, they can't even manage that stuff right, what makes people think the government should make all your decisions for you?

The US is quickly spiraling down a road that nothing good can come from.

The big problem with cigarettes is the additives which the Food and Drug administration should have the ability to regulate the sale. Here the list of 559addictives

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_additives_in_cigarettes

People should have the right to smoke and purchase natural tobacco products. People should even have the right to add their own additives. But the government has the right to regulate additives and as well require proper labeling.

    Here we go.

The people that want our government to protect our freedoms and follow the Constitution has warned about this and nobody listened.

The government wants a new healthcare plan. Well, in order to afford it, they are going to start deciding what is healthy and what is not. That way, they can supposedly cut costs for their crappy healthcare.

First it's cigarettes. If you think it's unhealthy and dumb, DON'T DO IT! I'm a smoker. Do I want to quit? Of course I do. But, please don't force me, berate me, etc. to do it on your timelime.

Drugs are bad. I think alcohol is really bad. Food obviously is bad. So when do I get to start berating all your fat asses out there for eating that cheeseburger because you are making my healthcare costs go up?

It is SO disgusting to me that people in this country are actually willing to give up their freedom, freedom to choose HOW to live their lives, just so they can get a handout.

    Freakin' disgusting....
