I don't see a lot of posts here about the decline in AdSense earnings. I have seen my income go from 6 grand a month a couple of years ago to a grand (maybe!) this month. I know the competition has been stiffer but it seems that advertisers are not paying anything anymore for clicks. The traffic is almost the same, maybe a little bit higher, the clickthrough is down and the eCPM is hitting the floor right now. It has been declinig really fast the last couple of months and I don't see anything positive in the near future. I have changed the formats lately to see if that would help but so far, nothing. Anybody else seen anything like this?
So is it as simple as there is not many advertisers anymore so there is no competition in AdSense, hence they don't have to pay as much for a click?
I would assume so, Also the larger amount of publishers drives prices down. I would think it would pick up in around 12 months
I run adsense and CPM ads from a 2nd-3rd tier network. The CPM ads are doing terrible this year. I'm talking 12-13 times less this year compared to last year at this time.
CPM ads are terrible even for US traffic.. I still have hope on Adsense.. Let's wait for the end of the year and for web 3.0 websites to be launched.. Maybe will have more advertisers then big competition!
