I have one of my friend's website and he has done a mistake in not keeping one of the VERY importan keyword on title.I want to place the keyword there but would there be a change in SERP if i change the title ?If you have any personal experiences let me know.

The site is a big one, with PR4 and 4000 Alexa .The keywords are perfect in meta.but it is missing in title.

    thanks and cheers :)

Yes, If you keep on changing your website Title, surely your PR and SERP will affect. So don not change your Title regularly.

If you are changing your title with proper keyword then i don't think there is a problem with SERP

I would expect the same effect. But how long ????

If the site is performing well then I would't even bother change the title tags.
Those are important in the ranking but there are a lot of websites that perform very very well with a "non-relevent" title but with the right content, tags and backlinks.

Yes, you will get result fluctuation. If you use proper keyword change, it will come back soon again.

Just change the the tile and build some quality backlinks for the new and old keywords in title, so that you will get rank well soon for the new one with out affecting the old one.

stay with the same Title for up 6 months, after that you can try to change another title that related with your page.

My previous title was “How to Buy Shares” then I decided to change it t “Stock Market Today” to match it to my domain. Then after about one week I couldn’t find my site even in 10th page for the local stock market key words which my blog was ranked in 1st page before I change the title.
After three weeks now my site is getting more traffic from three major search engines. Yes it is temporary drop

I have had sites where I changed the title and it still rank months later for the old title and now the new title. If you do it once and are white hat, the search engines will give you a free pass. I have had sites where I changed them 3 times in 3 months and they were fine. Well, up until the day I moved ip's, databases and it was down for a day or two. I was done!!!!

I have changed the title on one of my sites by adding 1 extra keyword to the title, i then ranked second for an amalgamation of 2 words from my original title. So for me It increased my ranking and traffic.

Yes it will affect the SERP but it would only take temporarily.
But you don't have to worry about changing the keyword.
Just change it i know you'll be surprised with the SERP but take it as a normal effect.
It will be back to normal later on.

Obviously, changing the title will affect your SERP's instant. And you must have main keyword in your title.

I would think that you can certainly expect a temporary change in your rankings... that's just common sense. But if the KWs are important, then make the change, but then stick with it and ramp up your linkling campaign to offset any negative effects.

PR is depending on many things such like:Traffic on your website, Website design And many things.
If you Change your page title then your website's ranking could be decreases. If your website is going in decreasing order then traffic could be decrease. In this case your PR will be decrease.
